elite 8 shud have a live category as we'll
I really agree with what Jasraj said, I think it's only fair for a team like HPD to role through based on how successful they have been, maybe not a live category but they should also be considered, the merit that they have attained in the past few years is due to their consistent placing at competitions.

US West: ABC & BK
US East: Three way tie between DCBC, JJ, FAUJ
Canada West: PCBCA & PANJ
Canada East: SGPD & TAG
US West: APD and ABC
US East: VCU and DCBC

All canada west and us west teams are just the same 20 dancers being recycled through different teams! So the teams are good but they are all the same
Haaaaaaaaahahaha, that would be why BC just had a 12 team competition with NO repeat dancers on ANY teams, right? :p
ok first calm your ass down I'm one of the last ppl youll see knocking BC.. second. pcbca, has had ppl dance on panj, shan e has danced for pcbca, surrey dances for abc and vise versa... once again. calm.your.ass.down. When I said they're all the same I mean, styles of dancing, dancers stamina and experience levels, etc. is the SAME. Theyre Equal. Quit getting fiesty. -_-
I respectfully disagreed with something you said based on facts that may or may not be true, and I have a right to say so, as is the point of an online forum. If you have an issue with something *I* have said, I deserve to have it addressed respectfully without being asked to calm anything down.

Pertinent to your original point of all the teams being good but the same, my personal opinion is that you can't compare the folk styles of teams like Shan-E Punjab, PANJ or AVA Girls to the modern styles of teams like APD, ABC or Jawani. Recycling dancers between teams being a non-issue, comparing styles in teams with so much variance is really difficult.

That is all.
tell em like it is bharathi :)
bharathi, please go back and read the original post. It's different from what Ankur quoted. My bad for taking what you said the wrong way.

Teams are all good but all the same...is that the post you would like to have read? If so, what I said above still stands the same.

And it's not about taking what I said the wrong way it's about the disrespect you showed when you responded. Inability to compose an appropriate response is no excuse for disrespecting another member of this forum. Had I turned around with an equally volatile response to your "Calm your ass down" then this thread would have changed from an open discussion to a bunch of nonsense. Let's try to keep the discussion going.

deviating away from all ^ that, who do you think would best represent Canada/ US west?

In my humble opinion

Canada West PCBCA for SURE, 2nd spot is up for grabs depending on what happens at Jashan/VIBC/Bruin/Idols. BCs Best really opened up a lot of people's eyes as to BC's bhangra talent at to a certain degree you are right, ALL the teams are REALLY good. PCBCA did establish themselves as elite though, at that competition.

US West: APD and ABC

heck, hpd as just exhibition would be a Great moment/experience for us, eastern audiences.

Really down for a live category or a live exhibition team. However, if a live team competes in the same category as music teams, I'm not sure how difficult (or even possible) will it be to judge the teams..

Agreed yo no doubt about that.. however, big apple is tryina have live & music teams in one category this year if they don't get enough live applicants.. that will be interesting ??? 8)

DDA always has both live teams and music teams in one category. It's pretty difficult to judge but since it's a more traditional competition, the live teams always end up taking first.

I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned Drexel Bhangra for the US East.

They ripped it at blowout!

All the team from US east suck...btw i think there should be elite 10 not 8 with 2 wild cards one for east one for west.
Also wouldnt mind if it was 4 modern teams n 4 live teams from each area...too much like masti i guess?

Not sure if someone already said this, but I think elite 8 is based on the hottest teams from the past year. The teams chosen are good, successful, and they're loved by fans. That's what brings them to this competition.

Sidenotes:
1) Shout out to AEG, i wanna see them build on Bruin and show it at Elite 8 this time around.
2) Anyone that uses Notorious Jatt in their mix has my vote to win.
