no one really has a strong case in the us west, it has been the weakest region for sometime as no dominant style developed to fill the vacuum left by the big three (kj, lbc, sher)...
Weakest (in this case) only because of live bhangra.

SGPD should come back as the defending champion. All in favor of elite 9 say I =)

US West - APD + ABC
Canada West - PCBCA + PANJ/Shan-E-Punjab
US East - AEG + DCBC/VCU
Canada East - SGPD + NJ (still bar none the best teams there, though I am in favor of elite 9 as ankush stated above me. then i would say nypd as well)

Based on Performance Value (evaluation of recent performances). "Who is Elite 8?"

US East: JJ & :p
US West: ABC & APD
CA East: SGPD & NJW
CA West: PCBCA & SEP

Based on Competition Value (consistency = quantity/quality of placings at competitions). "Who deserves Elite 8?"

US East: :p & :p
US West: ABC & BK
CA East: SGPD & NYPD
CA West: PCBCA & SEP

if your going by consistency, then DCBC and vcu should be a lock considering dcbc placed at burgh, won ubc (over one of the CA east teams you listed), and placed at bayside (over one of :p you made, if im guessing what it is correctly. if not i apologize haha) and vcu placed 3 times as well (winning burgh, bayside, 3rd blowout)

and put aeg next because they placed at boston and won bruin, arguably two of the biggest modernish (not trynna start debate lol) comps you can go to besides idols.

id say unc (2nd blowout, 3rd vpd) and drexel (1st blowout, 2nd burgh) are close choices as well.

The thing is, SO many of the DCBC girls are part of the EMDO committee. I can't imagine that they'll pick themselves as one of the teams.

Also, I don't understand FAUJ as a selection. I understand that they've placed at a couple of competitions, but nothing higher than 2nd place. Additionally, this has been their first year of competing, none of that really sounds elite to me. No offense to them, but I believe a team should have a particular pedigree and a history of winning to be considered, and while they may be talented, they haven't been around long enough (competitively at least) to build a strong case.

The selections out of US East are going to be tough, no team from here has really dominated consistently this past year, except for maybe VCU, and even they have a lot of changes in their roster, so who knows if they'll be quite as good.

Your points are very valid. I excluded DCBC only because of the EMDO connection - They most definitely do deserve a bid because they have consistency at a variety of competitions. And you're right that VCU has also proved themselves with trophies this past season. Perhaps, I'm just sexist and prefer an all-guy line-up. :p
