To be honest, I don't think SGPD is that strong of an option for one of the picks from Canada east. Yes I am aware that they did get first place at Big apple however, they had two teams competing at masti. None of the teams from both live and modern categories placed. I wasn't a fan of both their performances at that competition. When it comes to picking Elite 8 teams, I think that consistency is very essential. In my opinion, doing poorly at one competition and great at another doesn't fit into an "elite" status especially in a region such as Canada East where there are many other teams that better fit this status. Just an opinion.

Which idols? 2009? I believe that was accounted for in last years Elite 8, I could be wrong. But this years idols will prove a lot when it comes to SGPD's consistency, under the circumstance of it counting for this years Elite 8. Right now I don't really see SGPD as a very consistent team. As I said before, I wasn't too big of a fan of their masti performances. Also when SGPD dancers danced under the name of Nachdey Gabroo at Jawani 2k10 I wasn't impressed at that performance either. NG did get second place there, but the performance had many key mistakes and overall it seemed like a sloppy routine. So until BAB came by, it seemed like SGPD was really slacking. However they performed really well at BAB so the teams consistency just seems very blurry to me. Which is why I think competitions like Bhangra Idols and Bhangre Di Mehfil will be very important for narrowing down the elite teams, if these these competitions get accounted for in the 2011 Elite 8.

C'mon, you guys think there's really a distinction between NJ and Jawani Warriors?

Are you trying to tell me that no NJ Warriors danced for NJ at Elite 8 last year? Even if Jawani Warriors are selected, it's the same academy, the same coaches/choreographers/creative minds from Punjabi VACA and pretty much the same pool of talented and experienced dancers. Whichever team gets picked, it's most likely going to be the same dancers dancing at Elite 8 regardless, more especially if they go 16 man again.
