I'm going to assume it takes place in D.C. because of Emdo or something, but what would be pretty badass is if the location of Elite 8 switches every year to the city of the winning team from the year's before.
i.e. if it was in Toronto this year since SGPD won it.

Cool idea, but organizing a competition remotely would be insanely tough. It's hard enough organizing one in your own city! lol.

If the Elite 8 committee wasn't all based in the same place, then maybe? Even then, it would be really hard without everyone together.
