haha uhmm hes a legend but certanily not the best QB we ever say there could be a good debate bewteen him and lets say dan marino, john elway, and even joe montana..but honestly the best Qb taht has ever played the game is palying right now and that is in my opinon peyton manning..and tom brady they will be the 2 best once the retire...and the packers shoudl release farve since he has done soo much for there organzation...i mean even if he goes to teh viking or the bears..its not like hes going to come back and play next year...the packers are still the top dogs in there division unless the vikings can step up and AP runs all over them...

Great QB debates are tough and best split by eras (i.e. free agency has dramatically changed the game since say, Unitas, Bradshaw, Jurgensen and coverage rules have made it easier since Elway, Montana, Kelly, Marino which is why I somewhat discredit the passing stats of Manning and Brady but really respect the consistent winning which is much tougher now in the 'league of parity')

I don't think championships determine best of all time, I think being a leader does. Marino did not win obviously, but he had no help around him and led the dolphins into playoffs on numerous occasions. So the fact that he maxed out the talent around him means he deserves a serious consideration. Montana on the other hand had a great team and the best receiver of all time in Jerry Rice. He helped max out the potential of his team and produced 4 rings. Unfair to compare the number of championships, but should compare the impact the two quarterbacks had on their teams. Favre had one win and two appearances but those were in the mid 90s. He's had more losing seasons since then so his impact on his team appears to be only a slight positive (over his long career).

That being said, the man plays on Sunday, can't say enough about that.

The fact of the matter is, in football, a QB leads the team, and makes others better. Ownership has a lot to do with it, but Miami did put some good players around Marino. Does a ring signify greatness? No. But it does signify how well a QB can run a team. You look at argubaly the best leader of all time in Elway. He sat through every meeting, both defenseive, offensive and SP. He mad eveyrone accountable. He won the championship late in his career, but never changed the way he approached the game which you gotta respect. I dont think championships should determine greatness of a player. But in football, where culturally the QB is the un-official leader, you have to say that there is an added pressure at that position. Guys like Brady, Manning, Elway, they were able to take that pressure and run with it. However, guys like Marino, maybe because he was too passive, didnt

The pakcers are not the top dogs in their division. Its obviously the Vikings. They are bringing back both AP and Taylor, and should continue to run on anyone. Their defense and QB were the problems, but I think they should be okay this year. They picked up Allen, which is a game changer all by himself.

the great QB debate is simple... Mike Vick is the greatest haha. go falcons!!
On a more serious note, I think Favre still does have atleast 2 years left in him. He was an absolute nightmare for opposing teams last year, but I dont think the Packers should take him back. They need to move on with the potential they have in Rodgers (I havent seen him play much so im not sure how hes gonna turn out).

When Peyton retires, he will be the best QB of all time. He is in the top 10 for pretty much every good QB stat, and his career isnt even over. Yea, Favre holds the record for career pass completions, but he also holds the record for most interceptions thrown. Peyton's at #8 (and climbing) for receptions, but is way down at #49 for Interceptions thrown with 135 less than Favre.

Also, Im pretty suprised that nobody ever mentions Vinny Testaverde as one of the top QBs

well Testaverde is a average quaterback i mean yes i know hes still playing when hes leik 45 or something...but i mean deos he really need to..he should jsut retire and call it a career...we all know hes not going to the hall of fame becasue hes hasnt done anything that specail in his career...his stats are preety good only because of how longed he played...he should retire now before he gets hurt...
