First and foremost congrats on everything all of you guys have done.
I still think Fever 4 is FCB's best and most entertaining set to date. Fever 4 and even before then I was always blown away by the sets and mixes.
But after Fever 4, like Karn said, the sets dont left a real impression.

None the less, Congrats!

Damn, we really tried to trim the fat and filler to make our performances more hype (after fever 4).

Well hit the drawing board for our next set with your point and perspective in mind for sure!!

First I would like to thank Harjot for taking and editing the videos, and adding in the kind words he did.

You are very welcome, the words were genuine.

First and foremost congrats on your successes in the post-KB era, shit has changed dramatically since then. For better of for worse, that's for you to decide.

It's better. MUCH better.

And you played the rubric game well, but I think that's what made it boring for me.

At the end of the day, it IS a competition. We go to enjoy, have fun, make good memories and create new bonds. Still, it is a competition, and a wise team will read the rules and comply.

KarnSingh said:
Especially because I was a believer in FCB pre-Fall 2013

Oh, you mean when you were a member of the team? Makes sense.

KarnSingh said:
Another reason you lacked grace is because there is basically the same tempo throughout the set. Ram V had a really easy job, just keep moving that dagga

Saying that Ram V 'had a really easy job' is extremely disrespectful. The amount of shock that must have been present in his mind, and in the teams mind, is something that we as the audience will never be able to measure. Even then, the team did not flinch, and Ram (despite the fact that this was never practiced) did a damn good job. Oh, and if it wasn't clear from the 3 times you watched the video, he did in fact 'keep moving that dagga'

KarnSingh said:
Shit, you guys competed against BK at Bruin, and you saw first hand how much heart they had from beat one to beat last. They proved just with that how badly they were fighting to win Bruin.

Anyone in their right mind who has no ill will towards this team knows how hard they fought despite (as one BTF member said it) taking a bullet straight to the chest 2 minutes into their performance.

KarnSingh said:
I think you guys play the rubric game too hard. After being captain for 4 comps this year, I learned one thing, FAWK the rubric.

Your aspirations are admirable.

KarnSingh said:
These are some my CRITIQUES, and I did not sugar coat. My goal was not to vilify you, but to write how I felt after seeing this.

Ain't that the truth. Goal not met.

KarnSingh said:
This may not make your team happy when they read it

I support this team. I think that will make them all happy :)

Signed,
Harjot Hundal

Columbia brought our entire young team to Elite 8 as an opportunity to show people who were new to Bhangra what dancing at the highest possible level of performance was. The competition exceeded our expectations when our newbies' first experience with spectatorship was a roaring, standing ovation for what was undoubtedly the MOST difficult mishap for a group of dancers to experience on stage. Thanks for linking these videos, FCB.

I've showed our team several videos in the past of First Class, from 2011 to now, culminating for them in an opportunity to see you guys live. While the absence of music definitely made it harder for you guys to execute as you would have liked, I'm sure, this performance excited us beyond belief, and motivated us to keep working harder to learn, practice and prepare. Regardless of whatever mistakes made, it showed us what an experienced group of brothers on stage could overcome.

That being said, I personally found each set in choreography and music to be hyper than the next. I personally disagree with the notion that this performance was not as entertaining as the past. From what little knowledge I have, I was so happy to be able to see a really entertaining set live. I confess I kinda enjoyed seeing it without music, as the dancers looked like they were having so much fun dancing like champions to a dhol. Keep doing what you guys do, as you motivate the rest of us to do better.

In watching FCB over the past couple years, I think they have done something that is hard to do as a team and a captain, which is to reinvent yourself. At the same time, I feel FCB has not compromised their signature style and approach to Bhangra. Whether its a set from 2 years ago or today, you can tell almost immediately from the dancing style, the choreo and the mix that its first class-you guys continue to stand out and have a unique identity.
There is such a high level of uniformity and cleanliness among all the dancers and you can definitely see the increase in maturity.
If I had to add one critique though, it is in my opinion that the formations FCB has used since the Burgh 2013 set have a similar pattern or style-in the way one group of dancers will cut through another/pick up another. The formations are cool and crisp, but I think after seeing them repeated in different permutations throughout all the sets, they can be a bit repetitive. I think there could be a bit more diversity in formation types and styles.
Best,
Sonny

FCB had a breathtaking performance at Elite. The crowd was with you the whole way! No one on the team flinched or stopped smiling. The audience was so engaged in that moment in time, and it actually felt as though we were part of your performance. Just wow.

Congratulations to the Captains, dancers and Dholi Ram for all your accomplishments! :)

Nothing, absolutely nothing describes watching this Elite 8 performance live. It was raw, it was dirty, it was one of the most defining moments in my bhangra career to see an entire audience unite for First Class Bhangra.

Already told you boys after WBBC, but that set was one of my favorites to date.

Stay classy.

Had the pleasure of being at Elite, Srujan, and WBBC and seeing 2/3 of the performance.
It's amazing how much Sid, Ram & the rest of the gang have persevered through the rough beginnings to grow into a top tier, elite 8 and world's best team.

The energy is something I still am dumbfounded by. Someone mentioned above that it's easy to get lost in the hype, and yes, it is, but it's definitely a strength for this team. No team comes to mind in the last year and a half in North America that has the capability of going 110% throughout a whole routine like you guys do. I even looked to the back in your videos and those dancers are matching everyone else, which is just great. As long as FCB continues their energetic routines (and as long as energy is on the rubic :p ), judges and competitions will have a hard time not placing you at a competition despite the critiques that are bound to come.

Also, are you guys going to release your srujan video? I'm assuming it is pretty similar to these other 2, but I remember how crazy the crowd was at srujan, so it'd be nice to see it.
