their is a lot of speculation behind that (proofs that prove and disprove it at the same time)...mainly b/c 0.9 does not equal 1...its said that 0.9999 (repeating) equals 1 and 0.999 (repeating) is not a REAL number so that's one problem...but also i've read that if you go about saying that 0.999...9 is equal to 1, you use the same logic that 1=2...had this in one of my math classes
