In collegiate raas, there's a concept of themes that have become almost mandatory at competitions. Gator Raas at Miami Mayhem 2009 made Gatorade their theme and took a 30 second break half way through their routine to essentially enjoy a water break (but with Gatorade, of course) and then mask it as part of their theme. Really not sure why any self-respecting bhangra team would do the same.
Y'all are getting better in choreography and coordination. Not sure what your rational was for justifying the Gatorade gimmick - it unfortunately did come off as really lame. Even if you didn't drink actual Gatorade, it's completely random, has no impact/entertainment value and the set loses cohesion.
Gator Raas won... u mad?Sue Sylvester said:HAHAHAHAHAH THE GATOR RAAS GIMMICK, which as I tell everyone, is the lamest gimmick in the history of dance.

Damn so THATS what bhangra organizers are missing.Sue Sylvester said:And I never got mad after raas competitions - each one had a happy ending.![]()
Help me to understand...they danced like boys before? Other than an improved change in coordination, their moves seem to be at a faster tempo and mroe aggressive to me from previous routines. Is that it?Mariam said:I've always liked your choreo in general - but this time you guys danced like men and gave the set justice. Guys were ripping the prop segments. Also, the video doesn't convey it so well, but your passion/heart/soul really came through in this performance and definitely resonated in the audience. It was extremely enjoyable to watch and i told you you'd place hahacongrats again!
Gimmick totally failed haha, and you should have at least DRANK lol! The idea itself had potential but next time just make sure your gimmick flows in and out of the set smoothly and that it has a purpose, doesn't look random
Observation: Your style of creativity is very subtle and intricate. This is not a bad thing actually I respect it a lot, but little twists (like the way you did chaffa with shykka pushing shykka up into the air) are ideas that only people very familiar with bhangra will notice and be able to appreciate. For this reason, I think a great gimmick or trick would do your team well, by making an impact with the general crowd grabbing their attention
nice analysis guys: i think you're both right. Ashveer is spot on in how much this team has become homogenous and fast, while maintaing grace.Ashveer said:Help me to understand...they danced like boys before? Also: Amazing set. I've always been sure to catch FS' performances and its awesome to see them stepping it up every time and not resting on their laurels stylistically or otherwise. I also echo Harman's sentiment if you guys can figure it out logistically.Arjun said:nice analysis guys: i think you're both right.
