like hardeep, i don't drink either and i respect a girl that's willing to place her personal values over the societal pressures at a bar or party. i like it that a girl can have the confidence and emotional maturity to not need a drink to "forget shit" or "unwind." and even if that's the case, there's a difference between drinking a glass or two and waging all-out war against your liver and dignity. i respect and admire girls that do not fight that fight.
that being said, sargam is crudely correct, as usual. i'd be physically more attracted to a DTF drunk chick, but there's no way i would respect her more.

Does anyone else find this thread obnoxious? Maybe it's just me. If I were a girl (shuttup Mow/JD) and reading this topic-whether I did drink or I didn't-I'd be completely turned off. A bunch of dudes throwing out their opinions about girls who drink... a) this isn't the kind of conversation I'd have on a bhangra forum, and b) I bet you every feminist is reading this wanting to vomit.
Sonika, to answer your question, I'm going to start off by saying that a woman should never a) look toward men for approval, or b) look toward men for validation. The only person who's approval you need-as of this very moment when I can also bet there isn't a ring on your finger-is your own.
To ACTUALLY answer your question, I give props to the girl who doesn't drink. Mad respect. But, as a guy who does drink, I would rather a girl who drinks also-but knows that there's a time and a place for it.
And to the dudes on this thread, I will say never judge a book by its cover. The girl who you see at a bar taking shots with friends or with a beer in hand might be someone you wouldn't expect. I think there's this general thought here that people who drink don't do anything with their lives, when-at least in New York-there's huge potentional for it's exact opposite. That girl taking shots at the bar with friends/with a beer in hand can be a high power [insert job title here] at [insert high power employer here]... or she can very well wind up being an amazing person who can then become an amazing wife, and an amazing mother.
Either that or it could be a girl who got roofied and needs help. It's sad that we live in a sick world where this happens.

I agree with Joe. I think the same goes for guys too though. No girl will ever approach a guy who is sloppy drunk and cant even stand up. To keep this more relevant to the forum... if you're at a competitions after party, most times girls leave early or dont want to be there at all because of all of the drunk guys who are desperately throwing themselves at any girl there because they had a bit too much horny juice. It's disgusting and that sticks with a girl which means you can consider yourself canceled out of her book for life even if you were just too drunk and are really just a great guy. Also, I have mad respect for girls and guys who go to events like these after parties and keep their composure no matter how much they do or dont drink and dont just run off with the first person they find who is "dtf"campy614 said:

when did i say that i was going to pressure people into getting drunk, especially if i don't drink myself? i was just honest and said that physically, i would be more attracted to a morally loose, drunk girl. in fact, it's more that i would be aware that my chances were greater with her. in no way would i, as i explicitly stated, respect her. and i believe that respect is the cornerstone of any sort of healthy relationship. i wouldn't be more inclined to take the drunk girl home, or even talk to her more at the bar, as i am not just a penis with arms and legs, and do not take my every action pursuant to a final goal of boning.himynameis said:
