Basim, I think you're oversimplifying the question. You're absolutely right about the point you made, but it's not really what the rest of us are talking about. Clearly, in the eyes of the law, it's the contract and whatever applicable laws that will determine who is guilty and who is not. This debate is more about the general theory of equal rights and the morality of what the guy did, not simply its legality under current law.Basim said:Depending on who was at fault according to the contract justifies if the actor's reaction was valid or not. Harman, I understand what most women mean when they ask for equal rights, but I think a broader term for what those women are fighting for is equal treatment. Women in the status quo already have the right to equal pay for equal work, but they're not getting it. They need to fight for equal treatment so that employers will actually respect the rights that are already in place. So I think equal treatment means getting rid of double standards.HarmanSingh said:And we got to the point where we had to actually post about the immorality of assaulting women (that still blows my mind) when Hans said, ?If a woman has the right to hit another man, then the principle of equal rights dictates that a man should have the right to hit another woman,? and you among others said you agree with Hans. I agree that if a women assaults a man and he is in danger and fights back, then okay, he has legal grounds to defend himself. But like you said, this was about ?respect?. Or more so, hatred of women masked under the name of respect.

Hm, I'm not sure the fact that a girl is black would have anything to do with it... You probably could have stopped at "fat muscularish" and still made your point.Shahrukh said:if a fat muscularish black girl slapped you
