if it's homework or any work, what do u do to get past it? play music? be on the phone?

Tell me how you get past doing your work besides just doing it in total silence because that's just boring :p

I cant study in total silence, I need some kind of busy place, I like studying in coffee shops, those are sick, plus you can eat and steal their free internet

Turn on your tv, n play either a soap opera, an NBC show, or Sony TV in the background. Make sure it's not too loud, but still loud enough that the stupidity of the script still rings a WTF bell in your head. The logic is (n it works for me), these are so boring, homework ends up being a survival technique, you just HAVE to work on your hw, that's the only way out of the pain that the soap opera / NBC show / Sony TV Indian series inflicts upon you

Experiment...see what works best for you...working in groups? working in a hussle-bussle place? working alone with music? working in a library? Find the one that allows you to get the most work done with and stick with it. Yet, sometimes different subjects require different study spaces. If I'm reading or taking notes, I need complete silence in my room. If I'm writing a paper, I absolutely need music and would rather work in a group.

Some ppl might think that what im about to say its the most stupid thong ever... But it works for me.
When i have homework or exams i have "same day rule" a.k.a "procrastinating to the limit" hahaha that way you work with intensity cos u aint have a backup or more time to work with. Plus at that time the house is silent and nobody is online or updating facebook...

I wake up real early to get me shit done before my classes but i have all evenngs and weekends free, and as of now my GPA is 3.6 so its def workin for me
