ive thought about this before actually. It would be sick to create your own team, routine, vardiyaan, live or music, choosing your boliyaan or songs, different segments, moves, etc. YOu would basically have a bhangra competition with 9 other teams (the computer) at a competition. You would move up a ladder of skill level (rookie, veteran, all pro, ALL FOLK TEAM). hmmmmmm yea that would be cool.

that would be sickkk, u can start performing at small parties and functions to make money to start buying vardiyan, kundey, chikey, and make moeny to travel to competitions

How would your players actually dance in the game? You could (1) pre-choreograph for them in some sort of editing studio and then watch them perform the whole thing or (2) somehow your controller buttons can be used to make certain hand/foot/head movements and you can control a dancer in real time - this seems pretty hard and would most likely only work on the Wii.

If you pre-choreograph moves for your teams, I don't think that's so hard to incorporate into a game. The game could have like a list of 20-40 moves/stunts and you could just select them in a certain order to compose your performance. For example, Phumanian, Mirza, some Jhummar, and Dhamaal could all be programmed in, and you just select the order in which your team does it, perhaps editing the speed and the style (have like an energy-meter or something so you choose to do Jhummar with less energy and Dhamaal with more energy if you wish)...or maybe even a "grace-meter" where some moves you do really powerfully and some you do softly/gracefully (even though grace and power are not mutually exclusive but you get what i mean) and then you can pepper in stunts throughout the dance which you could choose from a pre-determined list as well. the list would have to pretty long otherwise people'd get bored.

and then you can customize costumes, accessories, and with all the band/musician options i think you'd have a bestseller game on your hands. If we make it like GUitar hero where the songs get updated with every version that would be cool too

The game would certainly be a hit but not enough support would come out of it. If you want to make a proper game a lot of coding and time would go into it and the number of bhangra/video game player combinations are too low, this would be a specialty game and not a mainstream game meaning the budget would have to be lower then expected.
But deff a cool idea. Got me thinking. I might just give it a try in the near future. May not be as hyped out but deff I got a great idea on maybe how to do it.

I once had the idea of creating an online game, Kabbaddi Fantasy League, now I can see how that could also work with Bhangra Fantasy League haha

hey guys I might actually take on this project the problem with an online game or such a fantasy league would be we'd need the support of a lot of users and they'd have to be active. I am not sure if such a support can be given especially for an online animationless game (I) making a real game would require a lot of time and money and may end up having users to pay for the game but won't allow for online action although would get you a lot more other options. (I was measuring the advants and disvants but nonetheless I would definitely love to give it a try) any other thoughts?

Rohit, I would be down for the fantasy league bhangra concept. It would be a fun way to keep up to date with future comps and see everyone's predicitions. Not sure how it would work though, since it's hard to have a final "champion" team.. unlike the NBA fantasy leagues where teams keep getting narrowed down.

Anyway, it would be real interesting to see and I would love to help out if possible.

another sick bhangra related game would be if they made a game like rockband but in stead of singing english songs with a guitar etc. they could make it so they have a team dancing and your jobs team is to have one guy singing boliyan(instead of singing english music, one guy playing dhol(instead of guitar), another playing tumbi(instead of drums), and a guy playing chimtah or tumbi lolll
it would be awsome if they made a game like that lolll
just a random thought while sitting in class right now :)

So I was scribbling around numbers in class adding details I was looking at for something along the lines of a fantasy meets online gameplay crossover idea. It most def would work, but a lot of data compilation will be needed and for that I will need the members of BTF's support. Because I would need a recent video and possibly roster of a team that would like to be involved inside the game and possibly any competitions that wouldn't mind having their name in the game. Unfortuantely I can't get users to manage existing teams because the data needed for that far surpasses the amount I would need to make the project I plan on now. Also that would become almost Football Manager type game where 100's of pages of coding would be required and yeh i don't think thats going to happen on my part. Also the game I plan will restart every 2mths or so allowing changes to be made and more people to hop on and give it a try.
I would say I'm looking at maybe doing a beta test within the time Jan-March, somewhere there. A handful will be selected for this to test out any flaws and the potential of the game because if it sucks I will scratch the idea (N)

Kinnell equips "BLUE KURTA OF THE DRAGON" and uses "BLACK KUNDEY OF MYTHRIL" and gets +3 Grace and +5 Energy. If only he had enough gold to buy the "PAGHRI OF THE SHER" and get the +2 Expression.

W.O.B. lol

kinnell thats pretty creative..we should make two versions one with regular clothes and you have to work for stats and another with the special magical clothes and stuff like you mentioned

Sounds awesome Rohit. Are you planning to use Java or C++ to code this game? Also, could you please expand on this idea of "fantasy meets online gameplay crossover idea." I would love to test for glitches and all when the time roles around. Look foward to seeing & hearing about the progress bro.
