iPhone 2009?

What exactly is going on with the iPhone this summer?

There are plenty of rumours, and all have been 'confirmed by top tier' AT&T and/or Apple Representatives, so basically most everyone is lying because they can't all be true..

here are a few of the rumours...

1. New iPhone in summer 2009

2. New updated OS in summer 2009 instead of new actual device (more likely since the device itself is fine, but some programming needs fixage, but who knows)

3. New iPhone for VERIZON since AT&T contract isnt renewed yet (but that could be games by Steve Jobs to get AT&T to deal with them instead of losing them to Verizon)

The Iphone is an awesome phone. Has anyone else cracked their screen yet ? So the first time I dropped it, it fell from the balcony and after it landed the case went flying off and landed like 10 feet in the other direction. so I took my iPhone out of its savagely dismembered case and left it on the bathroom counter. A few minutes later my niece came and it was swept onto the tile floor and the screen shattered even more. And then after that I just stopped caring for it so. Oh once I dropped it at bhangra practice and it landed square on the on/off button. It still works, but it's basically dented, lol. Another time it slipped out of my pocket as I was getting out of my car and it hit the concrete and now the screen doesn't respond sometimes when you touch it. It is so close to working! Damnit I need a new iphone badly, lol

Don't you have the Apple insurance thing that they try to sell you when you first buy your phone? I'm not sure if it will help since AT&T doesn't insure iPhones but I've had issues with my phone and Apple took care of it.

Another rumor (dont know how big) is a 4G iPhone...could be just speculation because it looks more and more that the Palm Pre will be one of Sprint's first 4G phones.

Thanks rajiii I appreciate your moment of silence for my iphone, lol. Thankfully it still works and stuff so I am not yet in mourning, lol. I called apple but they said there was nothing they could do as their insurance does not cover any physical damage for the phone ...

Apple agreed to continue to have AT&T serve as the exclusive carrier of the iPhone through 2010...so early 2011 is the earliest Verizon could jump in on the iPhone. However, there are other rumors that Apple may release an iPhone lite or Media Pad on Verizon next year. There are also rumors that Apple is trying to position itself as a mobile carrier after that....

Same here, I'm all happy with my Sony Ericsson C150. All you need a phone for is calling people and texting!

I cant stand the iphone, I used it for a bit and I'm a texter so I had a lot of probs texting with it because I have longer nails. I loooove the blackberry. They're perfect for EVERYTHING.

Damn, looking at your guys phones, I don't feel THAT bad about mine. Mine usually ends up in the toilet. Don't ask me why/how.

theres all these apps u can download and intenet browsing, YOUTUBE!!!!
and games u cud play and texting is not that difficult either....
and it looks more proffesional when ur using it infront of little kids ;D
they just look and stare at u like ur god

Jus general-The iphone is supposed to add tehthering supposadly this summer also, which would be cool.

Laddi-I agree with the texting part, QWERTY keyboards are the best, I have a Moto Q, works just as good.

gill00 and jessica-the iphone's very user friendly, its more a toy then anything else, u cant do multiple things on it at the same time though.

If ya'll want something more professional and business saavy, look up HTC products and the Blackberry Storm.

Envy, the iphone can be tethered and used as a bluetooth modem if you've jailbreaked (jailbroken?) it, which is actually a fairly benign process.

Also gives you xGPS with turn by turn directions-- dont think thats under normal iphone just yet (july?)

if you have a iphone your ill. if your iphone is jail broken then your top. trust me its a TOTALLY different phone when its jail broken.
