ok so we went to get it at the apple store and the line was SOOOOOOO long---crazy MoFos---
went from the middle of the mall to the end...which covered about 20 store
so we had no luck there
then many At&t were all sold out..sigh...

I'm absolutely sick of my Helio Ocean (most retardest device ever) right now and am thinking about get the Iphone 3g. (My sister has the iphone and has been nagging me about it).

Does anyone have any suggestions? Should I get the Iphone 3g? or should i wait for a smarter, slicker phone?

The Dare has quite a responsive touch screen...blazing fast speeds on verizon...the camera is solid at 3.2 megapixels (especially the video )...overall, good phone. I would've gone with an iphone only if it was on verizon

I am completely torn on this. My plan is to hold off for 2-3 weeks and let some solid user reviews come out before I purchase the 3G. From what I've read, the biggest complaint seems to be battery life which is drained really quickly when using the 3G network and other apps. Plus eventhough Apple claims its $199, when you add on the basic text message plan (it was free for the original iphone) and the data plan (more expensive than the original iphone), the total price over 2 years for the iphone 3G is actually more than the original iphone.

Eventhough, the blackberry and other top of the line LG phones are great, I have to admit - the 'user experience' of an iphone is much superior and very unique. I've played around with my cousin's iphone and I absolutely love using it. Especially now that anyone can make applications - the sky is the limit. I've been a verizon guy for the past 5 years and am def not a big fan of AT&T, but I feel that the iphone might be worth the switch.

The iphone 3g may be cheaper but if you do the math, every phone apple sells AT&T will pay like aprox. $150 or something...then you sign up for 2 years which is $70 a month...70 X 24= $ 1680+199(for the actual phone)! now if you were to buy the phone and unlock, you end up paying way less than what you will with AT&T

The iphone 3G is 240 bucks more expensive over the same two year period as the original iphone... I'm not sure where you guys are getting your numbers from.. It's definately not cheaper... As far as the LG Dare, I chose my voyager over it, the Dare is a poor mans iphone and not much better, if any better at all, than the Voyager... In all honesty, I've played with the original Iphone and it's edge network and I've played around with numerous 3G phones, the speed difference isn't all that. It's barely faster.. Most of it is all in your head... Sometimes the speed of the network has nothing to do with how fast you surf webpages... Some phones allow you to scroll without the page being fully loaded, whereas some allow you to scroll only after the whole page is loaded. Network speeds have a pretty big grey area. Yea the 3G phones are faster, but they're arent exactly blazing fast or wayyyy better than the edge network that the original iphones uses... The iphone is a sick phone, the apps you can put on it are second to none, but cingular is one gay ass network...

Vicktastic, I don't think anyone said it's cheaper, everyone agrees the 3G costs more over a 2 year time. I just think the overall user experience is much better than any top of the line LG phone I've tested. True, the LG Voyager is the only phone that comes close.

yea, if it wasnt for the 70 a month, I would have an iphone right now even though i wouldnt be able to use it in my house... atleast its a nice looking paper weight...
