Also, whoever said that prince was gonna get benched once AI comes is most likely wrong. AI is a guard, prince is a small forward. AI is likely gonna be the starting point guard and stuckey is gonna come off the bench which is still gooood. Stuckey is a PG of the future, he still needs to develop a lot.

I think Bosh/Wade will bounce for sure. But i just think itd be so funny if most of these superstars end up staying put (and just getting a nice contract). If LBJ stays with the Cavs, Tmac stays with the Rockets, Dirk stays with the mavs, a lot of teams will be like wow we just gutted ourselves for the past 2 years for nothing. Of course that cap space is always useful, but i just keep thinking about NY and NJ, how they've been trying to set themselves up for the Summer of LeBron. I'll laugh if LBJ says he's staying put.

Ahh, casual fans. First off, theres a salary cap, and practically every team has their salary up and around the salary cap. Chris Bosh is not going anywhere, thats what they said last year when they signed him to a contract extension.

People dont realize that Toronto is 4th largest media market in North America. Next to New York, LA, and Chicago. Thats right bigger than EVERY OTHER AMERICAN CITY. Detroit, Boston, etc... Toronto is bigger. Toronto Raptors have been in existence for only 13 years, but already are the 14th most valuable NBA franchise. The raptors dont have that decades and decades of loyal fans like the pistons, there is none of that. That sort of gain in popularity and rise in the NBA is unheard of in professional sports. The Grizzles who came into existence with teh raptors are now out of Vancouver and in Memphis, just as a comparison.

So when you want to talk about money, lets talk about money. The raptors have a huge gaining potential, and had the raptors been along at least half as long as the rest of the Nba, I am sure we would be up there in the top 7.

People forget that when the summer of 10 comes out, the raptors will have MORE cap space than detroit, cavs ,NY and other teams. Oneal, Bargnani and Bosh's will come off the books with some other players. So saying that the raps will let bosh leave is dumb, and he has said, that he is not going anywhere.

hahahaha okay...so you say that toronto is the 4th largest media market? id like to see the proof for that. I believe you and all but really..i would like to see proof. I know they are the biggest DMA in canada but that includes other areas as well. But ASIDE from that, lets get back to talking about money. How do you figure that raptors will have more cap space than detroit???? Have you actually made comparisons? Do you know anything about detroit's roster? I doubt it so let me share some knowledge with you. Here is the pistons current roster:

Alex acker - contract ends 09
Arron Afflalo - 2010
Kwame Brown - 2010
Will Bynum - 2010
Richard Hamilton - 2011 with the 3 year extension BUT only two years are guaranteed and the 3rd is partially guaranteed
Walter Hermann - contract ends 09
Allen Iverson - contract ends 09
Amir Johnson - 2010
Jason Maxiell - ONLY GUY with a contract past 2010 (2012)
Tayshaun Prince - 2010
Walter Sharpe - 2010
Rodney Stuckey - 2010
Rasheed Wallace - ends 09

As much of a raptors fan you are, Summy, please do research and offer valid counter arguments with proof as to how you imagine the raptors having more cap space considering more than half of the piston team has contracts that expire in 2010, and considering that pistons has a greater fan base.

And i am talking about facts here not assumptions on where toronto or detroit will stand a few years from now. You fail to give enough credit to the pistons organization and their owner and GM. Bosh can stay or leave, but really, there are enough people in the 2010 market for the pistons to go after.

PS - Im a laker fan

Hahah, this is gonna be fun. No need to apologize to me after the post, I will accept your apology in advance.

WE are gonna take the salaries for the 10/11 season (including team options as they are always picked up)

Detroit:

Prince: Contract for the 10/11 season: Prince: 11.148 Million
Hamilton: 11.3 Million (new contract extension, dont know the specifics, so its a 34 million deal over 3 years, an average of 11.3)
Stuckey (team option): 2.767 Million
Affalo (team option): 1.959 Million

Total: 27.174 Million

Toronto:

Calderon: 9.0 Million
Kapono: 6.641 Million
Player option on Bosh, and Qualifying Offer on Bargnani (obviously everyone knows a rookie contract is 4 years)

Total: 15.641 Million

*even without the new contract extension of Hamilton, the raptors still were 300k under the pistons*

Thats okay, its easy to argue against me, but its much harder to prove. Your biased data does not include team options. Which means, the team has an option to continue the contract at the base salaries which unless the player completely sucks, will not be picked up. Believe you me, stuckey and affalo will be picked up. EVEN if by miracle that stuckey and affalo are not picked up something that will not happen, but if we are going with the flow, then so, the raptors will still have more space than the pistons.

Bosh has the same contract (exact same) as Lebron and Wade, the contract that has a player option which they will opt out of (the last year they make 17 mil, whereas if they opt out and sign they have the capability of making up to 25 mil) and Bargnani is on a rookie salary and his qualfying will be the end of his 4th year, so hes up for a new contract.

Thats why Toronto did the Oneal deal, to have the summer of 10 opened up.

Regarding the media market:

Dont worry no need to apologize, just remember this in the future.

haha thanks for the link but....

Prince's contract expires in 2010. Just like Rip's contract got extended a year before his original contract was supposed to expire, same thing can happen to prince. You fail to realize that nba contracts HARDLY ever play by the rules lol. Its not an argument, its seriously trying to give more credit and respect to the pistons.

Oh and youre crazyyy if you think they are going to keep afflalo lol. The way hes developing it would make more sense to juice up his value as much as possbile and offer it elsewhere.

Prince's salary ends in 10/11 season buddy boy. The summer of 10 is the summer before the Prince's contract is up. Also Rip Hamilton's new contract will take him through the 10/11 year at least, but most likely through the 11/12 season. Prince doesnt have an opt out, niether do the pistons. There is no way Prince's contract wont count against the pistons in 10/11, even if he re-signs for 100 years, whether its his extension salary or his current salary (11 million) he will be paid for the 10/11 season, and it will count against you. Your hamilton arguement makes NO SENSE.

Im crazy if I think they will keep affalo? All these loser piston fans are making him out to be the future, and all of sudden he is trash and tradeable?

But again, dont worry, no need to apologize. Nba contracts not playing by the rules? haha. Its a contract. Watching people backtrack is funny...

Here is a lesson to be learned, dont accuse me on being uneducated about this stuff, or you'll end up looking like Sher foundation.

I accept once again and forgive you, dont worry about it, no need to feel so bad.

"How do you figure that raptors will have more cap space than detroit? Have you actually made comparisons? Do you know anything about detroit's roster? I doubt it so let me share some knowledge with you"

Thats for your knowledge, appreciate it.

Buddy boy? Haha ok Summy boy let me try and explain in simpler english:

Afflalo is trash? You must be retarded if you think i said anything close to that. He is a good player, they will make him better and trade him off once his value increases more..hence the term "juice up his value"

Its ok, i wont accuse you of being uneducated, just lacking good research before you rant. I really wish i had as much time as you to post long responses and spell everything out for you in a way where you dont misinterpret it, i really do wish that. But then again, undergrad classes are harder than law school (sarcasm).

That was a joke...dont take it seriously and start attacking bhangra by going "hahahaha bhangra"

I like you, i really do, but i thought from your vast knowledge of sikhism you would know by now how ego is bad. Thanks, Good night!

I like you too buddy, but it always speaks volumes about a character when you move completly away from the topic at hand. You need to concede when you were wrong.

There is a right and wrong in this matter, and when you researched it, you saw you were wrong, admitting it, would have been the high road to take.

Neither Toronto or Detroit are talented enough to win the title this year. Lakers, Houston or Boston will be the ones getting it.
