What a debate!
I feel the idea of Khalistan is great, the idea of a utopian land where Sikhs and other religions can practise in peace sounds fantastic, and i for one love that idea. However, i do agree with a majority of ppl who have written replies on this post, that if we dont sort ourselves out first ie. caste, province etc, Khalistan will die a slow and shameful death. Who will govern it? Finance? Laws? Transport? When we were offered it back in the late 40s that would have been the time to take it, but not now.
However ppl! I feel all this anti-Khalistan is also anti-Sant Jarnail Singh, is it not? I dont think it is, for atleast i hope it isnt. We as the generation born close to the time of 1984 need to embrace what he did. Was he a terrorist? Should he have taken arms into the Akaal Takht? The debate continues...
But for all of his downfalls, he did not do any of this for himself, it was for us, the children of Punjab.
