First off, I would like to thank the Bayside committee for a superb competition as well as our liaisons Priya and Akash for helping us out this past weekend. Minus the microphone not working for our sher, I have no complaints with the overall experience.

Second, below is a video of our set, while it isn't the best quality, I think you should be able see it relatively clearly. As of right now this was KPGD's last competition so we hope we did it big. Critiques are VERY welcome and will help all of us as individual dancers grow.

The performance was really good! Starting off with the positives: you guys have alot of potential, the routine was pretty creative, and the dancers were pretty much in sync. Of course the view wasn't that great, so it was hard to see expressions, small mistakes, etc. As for the cons.. I think what's stopping you guys from being that next level team is your style; the style, in my opinion, seems like a mix of sgpd, nj, nypdish dancing; i like to label it as ninja bhangra! I'm not saying that you guys are stealing anyone's ideas or style, I'm just saying that the canadian style has had alot of influence on your team's style. And as more and more teams tend to move to this style, every team ends up looking the same. You guys had a great set, as do many other teams, but nothing stood out to me. While watching the performance, it seemed as if had seen something similar already, so i really wasn't too excited. However, that is my personal opinion! I'd love to see this team change style, simplify on the routine, & up the energy. Good luck in the future!

thank you vaibhav, for noticing that the canadian style is something many teams have been influenced by, and that we simply aren't jacking ideas. if we are able to do another competition, we will make sure our style is more unique.

and the mix will be posted soon as well.

can i have a favor and please if someone asks for a song or mix, etc, can you please make a comment about the routine as well? i have been horrible about this as well, and not until we started posting up our own videos i realized how annoying it is haha. so please :)

really liked the performance... only the khunda under the legs thing seemed kinda off and forced, after the khunda openings/shings... phumniya track is dirtyyy!!!

I've said this so many times, but I absolutely love that part near the end with the series of sword slashes and the bust out. One of the blue jodis goes a little too hard at some parts, but other than that, everyone seems to be in sync.

This was by far KPGD's best performance (IMO)
+ I agree with ^, that one blue guy was going H.a.m. but regardless, you guys did a really good job! yay! flower power.

very very creative set. Great job guys!! While I don't remember the UBC performance that well, I feel like i was much more interested/entertained/impressed with this performance. You guys do a really good job of coming up with crazy creative/difficult moves. Love the move around 8:45.
Some guys do seem to be going a little too hard. Thats not bad, but if they rest of the team isnt doing it, it really distracts from everyone else. namely the shorter guy in blue during phumniyan. also at the end pink guy at 9:19 is going CRAZY, while everyone else is much more graceful. I think all of can say we go a little too hard sometimes, but im sure if you guys standardize the moves across the board, the attention will be on the entire team rather than one person.
I can also see the comparision to SGPD/NJ type style (not at all saying you guys copied) in the last song. Im sure you guys will start to develop your own style as you progress as a team.

really enjoyed your routine though! looking forward to more from flower power. Also i assume you guys did the roses as stage markers again? Love that idea

you guys are getting better with every comp you do.. keep up the good work. You guys NEED to figure out your chadre, I remember at idols I randomly stopped some of your guys and re-tied them. I think there are videos online, its such a distraction.

ahh yes, memories. 3/8 of those guys danced at bayside (tall pink/yellow, bigger red/green, shorter blue/green), and 2 of the other guys have performed at other competitions with us (Idols and Boston). the khundey jump and the head kick in the beginning mela are both things you see in our current routine :)
