kobe - 14 seasons in the nba
lebron - 7
obviously, kobe's gonna have more rings...why do ppl keep feeling th eneed to make that comparison? compare them when their careers are over, 10-15 years from now.
if lebron had stayed in cleveland, and never won, he'd be like a charles barkely, great player but no rings. even then ppl still wouldn't get off his nuts and they would say "yea he was good but he never had it what it took to win it all". now that he's gone to a team that has a solid chance at winning, people are still on his nuts, saying he bailed. there was nothing left in cleveland, all the other big free agents had already signed. the only other place that made even a little sense for him to go, in terms of knowing he had help, was CHICAGO. knicks and nets are 2 of the most pathetic franchises at the moment, and aren't going ANYWHERE. what's the difference if lebron goes from cavs to knicks/nets? he's the only person carrying the team either way. he went to miami, because he wants to win. because he knows to be mentioned in the same conversations 50 years from now, with jordan, bird, kareem, kobe etc., he's gonna have to win. WHO GIVES A SHIT IF HE HAD 2 OTHER GOOD PLAYERS WITH HIM??? he still won! every player down to the last benchwarmer who wipes the sweat off the coaches ass gets that ring. he'll be remembered as part of the greatest threesome (no sexual reference intended) to play. yea, he still has to prove that they can do it. yea, they still need to build a roster around those 3. but if those 3 stars (james, bosh, wade) can take less money to build an amazing team, you better bet your ass that a few smaller role players are gonna be down to take less money for the oppurtunity to play with these greats.
