I have a lot of respect for all the Muslims out they're that fast for ramadan... That takes a lot of self control and devotion to your faith my best friend us Arabic and ever since we were in elementary school I would just be so mystified!! Every year I would try to fast with her and I would fall off the wagon on like day 2 :(

Muslim Bhangra Dancers and Ramadan. Lets share our experiences.

I remember 2 years ago i used to do practices with AEG, outside! In the hot sun, it was a real challenge, but over coming that made me a stronger person. I even had a marathon run through challenge against gurbir...my fat ass kept it real. Doing it all over again this season, bring it on baby.

Oh man bhangra practice + ramadan is a rite of passage for muslim dancers. Practicing outside in the Cali heat for hours, and that first drink of water for iftar, its near legendary man. Ive fasted for out of state comps and local, it acutally adds to the fun if thats possible

Faizan - 2 years ago was like mid/late Sep...its a perfect weather then..well in cali atleast

Esp this year, practices are 6-9pm, 3days a week, 3hrs each day, its horrible. Heat in Sacramento is outrageous, 100+ but fainting or almost fainting is what I experienced last week. =/ dehydration is not so fun. I dont think i can overcome this, shyyyt, but we will see. More power to me and of course the muslims out there. =)
