The Lakers should be booed. Kobe goes from trusting his players to not. That's a shame too because I wanted to see my terrapin Steve Blake get a ring this year.

You got it all wrong mah dude, kobe did trust his players, he allowed the team 15 3-point attempts, of which, only 1 was made. He allowed the team to attempt 63 field goals, of which, the team only made 25. LA went 11-20 from the free throw line. Dallas as a unit attempted 25 3-pointers and made 8 of them. Dallas went 17-21 from the freebies.

What killed LA more than anything was that high pick and roll with dirk. If that was any other BIG in the game, LA woulda given him 10 feet behind the arc, but this was dirk, so even if someone tried to help covering JJ, leaving Dirk open would have been just as bad. The Lakers are showing the one problem that they were hoping to fix (with your terrapin actually). Getting a younger point guard to boost the LA bench, but he hasn't done that at all. Speaking of Steve, he was horrible last night. As much as i was for steve blake at the beginning of the season, he hasn't fit this 2nd unit at all.

Captain Kirk is a free agent next season, hoping to pick him up, strengthen our perimeter defense against these little quick bastard ass point guards who have been LA's kryptonite for the last few years.

It's a 7 game series, and it aint over till one squad wins 4. LA needs to figure out how to hold everyone else down, just like in the past, when teams would hold the rest of LA to a small number of FGA's, they knew Kobe would get his. Same goes for dallas, Dirk is gonna get his, just gotta hold the rest of the team down.

Haha, fair enough, Kobe trusted his teammates and they didn't perform. You can't say that Steve is the only problem. He comes off the bench and his job is not to only start a spark but to maintain. I'm sure that if Phil stays another year, Blake will be able to master the triangle.

You brought up Dirk as the problem, but who's solving that? Pau is soft once again, and it's really sad because last year he broke that bad reputation by taking it to everyone in the playoffs including KG. Artest...man I am starting to wonder if he was just a 1 and done guy...is he content with 1 ring? I think so. The minute you clothesline a point guard because you're frustrated, that means you need to wonder if you want to do this anymore.

The problem is not solely steve blake. The problem is that Gasol is no where to be found, and for crying out loud where the hell is Matt Barnes? This guy plays like 10 minutes a game. For what? Give some more time to Odom if you need a useless bum to do more uselessness. The bigs from Dallas are Dirk, Haywood and Chandler. All of whom have played many years in this league and have the potential to get to the next round. But if you're one of the big men from LA...you're a veteran with rings. How are you going to let them turn potential into results on your home court in the second round of the playoffs? Now? Of all the times?

Bynum needs to wake these guys up.

It's really simple if you ask me. When Kobe isn't Kobe, EVERY PLAYER on the lakers is streaky. Odom @ 6th man of the year... smh. Streakiest player of all time, shows up beast or you forget he's on the court. Pau is the PERFECT example. There are times when i think hes the best PF in the league, and times where he's forgettable, aka now, when his baby bro is tearing shit up (lol i wonder if the bball gods were able to forsee this when they let that "trade" go through). Artest is almost done, his fires gone. Bynums the only piece left, and knowing LA theyre gonna try so hard to ship him for Howard when the time comes (along with a couple 1st rounders).

On another note, since its looking pretty possible:

Mavs Vs. OKC? this is an interesting matchup i didn't predict... and honestly raises lots of questions. I say OKC takes it but man thatll be a series to watch... Serge and Collison trying to contain Dirk? yikes. And Barea/Kidd vs. Westbrook? wowza.

LO has been VERY streaky.

Couldn't ask for more from Drew, 18 points and 13 boards.

We have no spark off the bench like we did with Trevor 2 years ago & Sasha and jordan last year.


@Kush if we do get the chance, why wouldn't we, large market teams can. (ie. Lebron and chris, amare, Carlos. KG and Ray 3 years ago, be it free agency or a trade) every large market takes it's best shot to get the best players possible. Why should we be any different?

Am i the only one confused how lebron was so much higher on the season MVP list than Wade? I mean if you're looking at it statistically, I can see how he still had a tremendous number season, but if you watch the games, you could see the actual impact of him versus wade was dead even. I feel like wades gonna be just as much in the running for Finals MVP, but lebron will get it because he hasn't gotten it yet, itll be his first ring, blah blah.
