So I wasn't able to really watch any of the performances but did catch a few seconds of a couple. Out of the teams I saw:
COLUMBIA- You guys did great as I assumed you would, and from the last video I was able to see of yours I saw alot of improvement. It was nice meeting you guys at the mixer and backstage, your all really great people and I hope we are lucky enough to compete at the same show again in the future.
PROJECT- My Fresno de Munde!! You guys are doing a great job in representing Fresno and we all know from experience that no team has ever made it from Fresno and stuck through. So I'm proud of you guys. Each time you guys perform I saw you guys getting better. From Bulldog to Merced to Norcal, you guys are all on the right track.
LAPD- I'm proud of you guys and thought you guys did good even with the given circumstances and made use of the whole stage. I hope I get to see the whole team of what I think is 12 (?) perform live soon!
And now as far as all this talk about fairness, and the judging, and who placed.
Hands down I really thikn Columbia DID deserve 1st. And I'm equally proud of my team MVP for getting second, especially being that Norcal was the first competition we did as a full 14 person team. Alot of people talked to the judges about the scoring and we were all given the same answers. I didn't get a chance to watch PBA so I can't argue about their placing 3rd, but I can say with full honestly and respect that the judging was done fairly and MVP was lucky enough to have alot of support from the crowd.
kinnell- I'm not sure if you attended Norcal, and I'm not sure how many competitions you have been to/ participated in, but judging I think will always be questioned and judges never get the FULL respect they deserve and no disrespect but it's because of ignorant remarks such as your own. Again no disrespect intended but we worked hard and had no hand in placing. None of the judges are our coaches and regardless of whatever scheme you assume was hatched, there were 5 judges from various teams and professions who decided who deserved to place.
Remarks such as your own take away the whole meaning and respect for bhangra. Keep that in mind please.
