game would have been different if lampards goal counted...bloody dumbass referees
ENGLAND TILL I DIE

whatever germans looked good on the counter attack and were very fast...compared to our slow ass defence
i dont think the score reflected how england played but whatever...

On a side note, FIFA announces a change of rules to the pitch lines
...England did not receive the memo

The Argentina and Mexico match has been AMAZING so far; one of the best in this world cup imho. Strong attacks from both sides, but Argentina's offense is hard to contain for Mexico. Should be an interesting 2nd half!

JUSTICE HAS BEEN SERVED.
This calls for a celebration.

from the day world cup started....they couldn even score a single goal by themselves...all of em flukes or rebounds...that is not soccer...and then USA officials say beckham joined USA because of quality game..YA RYT...i bet he aint even injured....hes jus pretending....this would have been embarrassing fr him too...i bet he might be celebrating and thanking god he didn play....hahahaha
How is that saving ourselves from embarrassment? Losing to an elite team like Argentina/Spain/Brazil would only be embarrassing if we were expected and favored to beat them. Assuming we played hard, there would be no shame if we lost 3-0. You would be a fool to assume that the US is a world power in soccer, so your gloating is for naught. Since you said justice has been served, I'm assuming you're an England fan. Tell you what, put Rooney, Gerrard, Lampard, Terry and Defoe on the US team- then if we lose or don't top our own Group you can call us an embarrassment.
well m not an england fan bro...the reason fr me nt liking USA soccer team is from very first day...they playing like NOOBS...all the goals they scored were flukes and rebounds, even today the goal they scored was thru penalty ....wen USA fanboys start saying that USA is kickin ass...dat doesn sound legit....daz the only reason....
in no way am i a US fan, but i feel embarrassed for ur remarks...scoring on a rebound means its a fluke? they're playing like noobs? w.e man, ur a noob when it comes to football altogether...becks playing for the US haha what a joke

Germany England game was lame, cuz i already expected Germany to win. They dominated over England all throughout the game, no doubt. Ya, that ball was in, but it didnt matter cuz Germany was the better team.

Argentina and Mexico always had the rivalry going on. Last world cup Mexico lost to Argentina, and the same this year. The first goal, oh the guy was clearly offsides, hands down. The refs were on crack. But again, the better team won, argentina.

Just like all the other games have replays/reviews for the refs to watch, i think soccer should too. Cuz this world cup has been all badd!! All these refs are horriblee!! I dont know what FIFA was doing when they picked these refs.

I agree with Amanpaul. I have never really been a big US fan, but for some reason am slightly offended by what you just said. I think some of the best goals are made when they're made on a rebound - the person handling the ball on a rebound shows, to me, great skill and control, but your opinion is your opinion and I respect that. As for the name calling - Donovan is legit, until I see you playing soccer professionally, you shouldn't be talking.

I didn't get a chance to check out either games today = ( [eff you midterms + quiz + assignment + essay!], but I am not the slightest upset with the results with today's games. Both of these teams have been the stronger teams this World Cup. As for the referees, I kind of agree with you - the assistants and the referees have been off except the Mexican referee, hes legit. I think FIFA needs to implement video replays to avoid these crazy calls. The call against Kaka was the biggest piss off!

why is no one talking about the netherlands?! i mean i kind of like it but does no one else realize like argentina ... they too are the only other team to get out of group stages with a perfect 9 points! i like that they are a powerhouse under the radar of everyone at the world cup. i hope they lift a lot of peoples eyebrows as we get deeper into the stages

HAHA! Nav, I think we all know that the Netherlands will dominate over Slovakia. And Brazil will do the same over Chile. I most likely won't watch these games because I already know the expected outcome. :)
I have a strong feeling that they (netherlands) will be in the Finals.

I've always liked the Clockwork Orange, and I'm definitely rooting for them for the rest of the tournament. I think with the whole surprise of France/Italy, and then England, and with Brazil + Argentina looking good and being favorites, somehow the Netherlands get overlooked. I think its fine, they'll surprise people then. GO VAN PERSIE!!!

Ya I know what you mean. I think both teams are amazing. Netherlands is more even throughout the field, and Argentina's obviously a stronger attacking team. Hence they create more highlight reel type plays and get more exposure. Also, with high profile characters like maradona, messi, tevez... you're bound to be one the more talked about teams if you're doing well.

Lets say.. Argentina's like the Suns, and Netherlands like Magic.

Down with the orange but f*** van persie, f*** arsenal :)

And after this round's spain portugal game (wow), the quarterfinals are gonna be interesting with germany-argentina (2 very different teams in terms of tactics they use), and netherlands-brazil game.

My predictions for the rest of the tourney:

Round of 16:
Netherlands over Slovakia
Brazil over Chile
Japan over Paraguay
Spain over Portugal (please)

QFs:
Uruguay over Ghana
Brazil over Netherlands (good game)
Argentina over Germany (great game)
Spain over Japan

SFs:
Brazil over Uruguay
Argentina over Spain (great game)

Final:
Argentina over Brazil (wow, praying for this matchup)

These next couple weeks are gonna be filled with some sickkk sickkkk football.

But damn, what a wack world cup for us, still so disappointed. Our slow defense got raped today by the young germans. We needed you Ferdinand. Still cant get over how a But damn, what a wack world cup for us, still so disappointed. Our slow defense got raped today by the young germans. We needed you Ferdinand. Still cant get over how a team with this much talent not translate into at least quarterfinals? Eff it.

lol i used to love off the netherlands too...but they always constantly disappointed me as they had some of the best players in the world and didn't seem to get far in compeitions....until they prove themselves i just can't take them seriously
