How much did Cornell pay you to advocate for them? I've seen 10 posts ranting. We understand that you don't agree, but don't take away from the hard work that the placing teams put in to preparing for this competition.

Yeah man its cool if placings didn't go the way you expected or anyone else expected. At the end of the day, its all about the respect you walk away from stage with. Congrats to the placing teams!

I think it's a bigger crime for a team who deserved to place (and most teams would agree) that was completely robbed. Mad props to unc, you guys have had a sick year, give credit where it's due.

Hell yes. Major props to Cal and VTech and every other team that competed. There are things I love about every team, from Cornell's khundey connection to their LED saaps to NYU's swag to Steel City's sick khundey tricks.

Ok...? I'm not trying to play the middle ground here and give zero opinion I think every team was good but as someone with zero affiliation with any team there it's an objective opinion

Having an opinion is one thing. Knowing how to express it while still being respectful is another. Just think you could've expressed it in a less abrasive way. Congrats to all placing teams!! Can't wait to see the performances!

It's amazing how people on this forum get called out for having an opinion.. I'm sorry I don't want to hold hands and agree with everyone, kids out there have spent months practicing and working towards this and it's easy for someone from a placing team to the take high road and talk about sportsmanship

First, I would like to say congratulations to your team, you guys were great! But I think the first part of your post was uncalled for. Whoever started this doesn't have any affiliation with Cornell so your remark was really demeaning to their team. They did an amazing job and don't deserve to be ridiculed for someone that isn't affiliated with them. Making comments like that just makes everyone lose respect for your team.

I apologize for that first part of the statement. I just wasn't used to someone unaffiliated being so adamant and even creating a thread titled 'Wow,' about the subject. I made an assumption based on that strange behavior and I guess I was wrong =/. I meant no disrespect to Cornell; I loved their set and gimmicks!

Deserving a placing or not, in the end the placings are set and its just about how the teams move on from there. I know what it feels like when u feel as of u were screwed over (whether I was right or not haha) and it does indeed suck but its better to say a team deserved to place instead of saying another didn't, out of respect to them.

Unc has been the most consistently strong team on the circuit this season and even.going back to latter half of last season, sick sick so sick, hard work deserves every bit of recognition.

Vtech so happy u placed love you pushpit :)

The purpose of forums is to have an opinion. I'm entitled to disagree, like I said before I have zero affiliation to any team that competed. I feel bad for teams like Drexel who brought it HARD after burgh, or Cornell who took legitimate risks in their set, or Nyu who had by far the most unique set of the night, or even Msu who brought a different flavor as well. Props to all the teams that placed, obviously you guys earned it. My basic point is that judging has clearly lost its way on terms of what teams should bring to comps. Why should a team like Cornell or Nyu or steel city or even Msu try to do things outside the box if the only thing that placed teams was simplicity and cleanliness. What happened to teams pushing the envelope and taking risks? What happened to collegiate teams trying to differentiate themselves?

We understand your opinion on the outcome of the comp, but a more professional way which respects the placing teams would be more appropriate. Congratulations too the placing teams!

+1!! You might have approached this in a wrong way but i definitely gotta agree with you there! It does suck to see that taking risks and pulling out new creative ideas has to take the back seat to clean and simplicity. This season has shown a lot of this actually. Don't wanna call out any teams but simplicity has been winning throughout this year and hopefully judges will start understanding how difficult it is to think of new and different ideas rather then just put out a simple clean set.

Placings are one thing but often times people forget the fact that the dancers do it for simple shaunk of it. When everyone is older and past their bhangra days, no one cares about who came first, second or third. Every team has their individual memories that they will hold forever and no one can take that away from then. Claiming you are a top team will not mean anything in 5 years, so enjoy what you are privileged to do and do it to the best of your ability.

Not sure what you're trying to say...people partake in any activity for their own reasons. For 95% of the seniors who competed at blowout tonight, this was probably their last time competing on stage and I highly doubt that would make anyone feel better for that fact. Some people compete for "simple shaunk" and some people compete to win trophies, not sure it's fair to say one is more justified than the other. Like I said congrats to all teams that placed, but I don't think it's fair to cheapen it as well by saying people shouldn't care, that completely defeats the purpose of competing
