Yeah man its cool if placings didn't go the way you expected or anyone else expected. At the end of the day, its all about the respect you walk away from stage with. Congrats to the placing teams!Psant said:How much did Cornell pay you to advocate for them? I've seen 10 posts ranting. We understand that you don't agree, but don't take away from the hard work that the placing teams put in to preparing for this competition.
First, I would like to say congratulations to your team, you guys were great! But I think the first part of your post was uncalled for. Whoever started this doesn't have any affiliation with Cornell so your remark was really demeaning to their team. They did an amazing job and don't deserve to be ridiculed for someone that isn't affiliated with them. Making comments like that just makes everyone lose respect for your team.Psant said:How much did Cornell pay you to advocate for them? I've seen 10 posts ranting. +1!! You might have approached this in a wrong way but i definitely gotta agree with you there! It does suck to see that taking risks and pulling out new creative ideas has to take the back seat to clean and simplicity. This season has shown a lot of this actually. Don't wanna call out any teams but simplicity has been winning throughout this year and hopefully judges will start understanding how difficult it is to think of new and different ideas rather then just put out a simple clean set.indiaman5 said:I feel bad for teams like Drexel who brought it HARD after burgh, or Cornell who took legitimate risks in their set, or Nyu who had by far the most unique set of the night, or even Msu who brought a different flavor as well. Props to all the teams that placed, obviously you guys earned it. My basic point is that judging has clearly lost its way on terms of what teams should bring to comps. Why should a team like Cornell or Nyu or steel city or even Msu try to do things outside the box if the only thing that placed teams was simplicity and cleanliness. What happened to teams pushing the envelope and taking risks? What happened to collegiate teams trying to differentiate themselves?

When everyone is older and past their bhangra days, no one cares about who came first, second or third. Every team has their individual memories that they will hold forever and no one can take that away from then. Claiming you are a top team will not mean anything in 5 years, so enjoy what you are privileged to do and do it to the best of your ability.
