wearing glasses during the performance! buy some goddamn daily contacts ppl!
there are people in the world that are unable to wear contacts...
so clearly, they have NO choice.
Yup, we have a guy with that issue (scratched cornea). It's out of necessity. Thats like saying i hate dancers who wear ankle braces, or i hate basketball players with elbow braces, at least in this situation.
we were criticized for having too many dancers that needed ankle braces. i think 6 of our dancers needed them and a judges feedback stated that it was understandable if one or two people need them but not more than that. so apparently we need to be more selective of how many people on our team that have ankle/foot/leg issues that are allowed to wear braces...
LMAO...okay so I'm responding to this in a post b/c I do feel the need to defend whoever it was that wrote that in feedback to you b/c (a) there was an explanation for that statement that didn't come through in the email that we did comment on amongst ourselves, (b) the ankle braces explicitly were not something that affected your placing, and (c) i think it was disrespectful of Kush to write what he wrote considering there's a pretty good chance that whichever judge said that would read his post. PS - Harman, did i ever send you your feedback btw? i don't think i commented on ankle braces in my feedback but i'll be honest, there were a few things about that that did come up while we were talking amongst ourselves (and no offense intended here at all!):
- the fact that half of your dancers needed one or two ankle braces each also (not so subtly) says something wrong about form, technique, the way you're practicing, and method of training your dancers...definitely agree that this is an assumption! and that it could be purely by chance that your team members all independently developed ankle problems before joining the team

but what i think that judge was getting at (that did come up in our discussion) was that good training does its best to avoid injuries, particularly those that would affect your performance in such a huge way. maybe there is something different you should be doing in terms of how hard you're pushing your dancers the week before a show...I know back to back practice schedules can definitely be hard on people's joints/muscles and if you're doing it all at one go, injuries can happen...
- you guys have beautiful vardiyaan that you probably paid a lot of money for...why not pick up a few ankle braces that match your costumes when you go up on stage to perform? it's hard for people not to notice your ankle braces when you have such nice vardiyan, and a guy in a yellow/red uni is wearing 2 blue ankle braces, a guy in a green/blue uni is wearing a white ankle brace and a black one on the other ankle. okay i might be exaggerating a bit there...but i think the only point here is that it's a bit distracting right?
okay sorry this got way longer than i originally intended!

if you have any qs about this do holler at me w/ a PM
