It's unequivocally clear that you're upset that you/your homie's team didnt get into this competition. Passive aggressive comments on BTF will not help you in the least bit. This happens all the time i.e. people being upset that ABC didn't get into elite. You know what shows their maturity? They didn't LOL all over the place.
There is no clause in a competition's reg form that says "we commit to accepting the most deserving teams." In fact, the implicit stance that most competitions take is "you will apply, and we will decide what we want to do." This is difficult to deal with but its ultimately the reality that teams have to face, and most sadly, new teams often get shafted because of this.
When you apply to college, you dont incessantly call a school that rejected you and say WTF? You might have deserved it more than a minority student who got in with lower grades, but the college has an agenda. Now you want a competition to specifically address why a team didn't get in. What do you want? "Team XYZ sucked harder than Sarina Jain." Would that satisfy you? I think its the responsibility of the comp to address privately (like in email) your concerns, but they don't owe you anything more than "Upon review of the applications, we regret that we could not offer you a place at our competition. We wish you the best of luck in the future, and look forward to your application for our next competition." (Please Pioneer, use that, I would love it). And your job as an applying team is to say "thanks." I know it blows, but life isn't as easy or fair as any of us would want it to be. If you're gonna be all gussa and drama baazi at the comp you're entitled to do so, but choosing happiness will be better for everyone.

Actually I just said it because I've heard a couple of teams SAY they were unofficially guaranteed a spot and it didn't didn't end up happening and I know pioneer is usually good at keeping their comp legit. So i assumed it wouldn't be a far fetched idea and would create less TENSION because ppl sometimes make a habit of going to comps and starting stupid stuff just because of it. Calm your face down please n thank juAshveer said:I previously felt bad about making light of your "lol-ing" all over the palce, but now I'm don't.sgrewal30 said:I really think that the committee should just clear things up now so that there's less tension at the actual comp. Next time have your homies who SAY things handle their own business instead of embarrassing yourself on a public forum which could easily effect the ways in which people think about you and your team. If there are other people who are going to have "TENSION" at a comp, let them. I've been at too many comps to count and I can't remember the last time someone said "OMG did you hear XYZ team came to the comp and started shit because they didn't get in?" If they did, everyone there (and later, BTF) would make a laughing stock of them. I'm totally calm because I don't have anything to do with this situation, but I hate seeing people make simple mistakes. You're welcome. But I should really quit. (self-awarded +1 to the quitting part).sgrewal30 said:Actually I just said it because I've heard a couple of teams SAY they were unofficially guaranteed a spot and it didn't didn't end up happening and I know pioneer is usually good at keeping their comp legit. I once made the mistake of letting my team know I thought it was gay and to never "+1" anything said in a team email again just to come back to my inbox later that day to about 20 different emails with +1s to the most random things, including a "+1 to Avneet for saying +1's are gay"
serves me well for being a "big fat ray of effing sunshine" hahaha
