naaaaaaaa. all about Bohemiaa.
hahah yeah Bohemia is the man
Am I the only one that is totally offended by him? I was in the car with my baby brothers and he goes off about smoking weed in his car writing songs or something to that effect. And, I know in Rap/Hip-Hop there is a lot worse said however, hearing it out of a Punjabi's mouth left a horrible taste in my mouth. Not a fan at all... its kinda trashy to me.

His stuff may be offensive, but thats not the point. Point is, in his genre, aka punjabi rap, he beasts everyone else. Some of his stuff is pretty sweet

I fn hate bohemia. I think he's more of a mockery of Punjabi speaking people than Jazzy B is.
Idk I just feel like I come from an area with such a profound and virtuous history, it's sad to see people from the same region identifying themselves with icons like these (Bohemia etc)

Bohemia is the founder of Punjabi Rap. He gots talent and has some sick lyrics and beats. I do not blame him for his lyrics as he is just reflecting the South Asian immigrant community. I know lots of guys who live his lifestyle or reflect the lifestyle that he talks about in his songs like smoking weed etc.

I do not expect every artist to be a cultural ambassador. Art does not always reflect history and culture but can also reflect contemprory culture or a fraction of the community. So if you've just heard his songs where he is rapping about paisa, nasha, pyaar you need to listen to his other more meaningful and sensible songs(Sahara, Chordo, Kurti, Dil, Desi etc.) Greatest rappers in history (Pac, Biggie and others) have all talked about "stupid shit" like drugs, sex and violence. Hip-Hop Genre is supposed to be like that. Punjabi Hip-Hop is a sub category of the bigger Hip-Hop scene and is not a sub-category of Bhangra music or folk music. I look at it as total Hip-Hop with Punjabi being the language of communication. How many Punjabi singers have you seen in movies with Superstars like Akshay Kumar? His new album "The Rap Star" became the highest selling album in Punjab.

Mr. Bhullar and Mr. Cheema are just trying to work their way up in this particular Genre of music. They have to work very hard if they want to go up the ladder and be at Bohemia's level. I would love to see more Indian artists expressing themselves through Hip-Hop.
