I don't know what comp this is but I think it was one of the first Bhangra videos I ever saw. I've probably seen it a million times but 6:26 gives me chills everytime I see it. The dude that is front and center does the move hella well.

Not sure how many of you guys were in/keeping up with the bhangra scene back in 2006, but Nachdi Jawani's "breakout" performance at Bhangra Idols 2006 left EVERYONE in awe.

This is the first time any team from North America executed some of these things, which other teams slowly started to incorporate into their sets.



3:27-3:40 - Team syncronized lean to one side.


5:45-5:53 - Tilt to one side. (You'll hear the crowd reaction seeing it for the first time)


6:19-6:51 - Phumaniyan segment, followed by the clean split to the V formation. (WOW!)


Keep in mind this was 2006, when half the teams on the circuit now didn't even exist (or weren't competing at the national level). That was one performance which had many parts that I just had to watch over again many times.

This is EASILY still a legitimate set by todays standards.

- NJ elite 2010 changed the game completely--teams started putting a MUCH higher emphasis on x-factor post that performance
- sgpd idols 2009--so folk, soooo good
- vcu 2008 - without question the cleanest performance i have ever seen by a collegiate team (and in general)--think of how talented the team was this year, SRK and sheel didn't dance and it STILL killed.
- sgpd elite 2011--seeing this live was jaw-dropping

KJ ZeeTV Bhangra 2003 - first real bhangra competition i saw live and was blown away by the talent and creativity of this team. the truck, bari kholkey, etc
Ultimate Bhangra - plz tell me some of u know waht im talking about
NJ idols 06- just..damn.
SGPD Burgh 07/Masti (same yr i think) - raised the bar for cleanliness and creativity by adding tons of speed to a set
vcu burgh 08 - bar raised again. so many ideas from this set were used by tons of teams following this comp
sgpd idols 09- clean as hell and so fun to watch
nj/sgpd - when they tied at masti- again tons of ideas adapted by teams
TBT- blizzard and boston - goosebumps during the entire set bc of the live factor and the songs used
i know some of u guys were at manhattan bhangra back in 07(?) - watching aeg/aan punjab di/virsa battle it out was fun and it was awesome watching teams balance their sets btwn traditional and modern..and even more fun dancing on stage with the SOB/SMD girlz haha



edit: realized this thread was more about specific moments rather than entire sets. my b. always fun to go down memory lane tho.

2:10 daang gimmick
4:44 bringing out Punjabi Soormay
Then culminating with what i think has to be the nastiest Soormay jugni ive seen at 5:37 (fucking sex like OMG)

The pop out at around 7:10 was definitely a WOW moment.
