Call me crazy, but after seeing that screen shot I really couldn't help but laugh.

I laughed a lot, actually. I know it's not funny, but I couldn't help myself. I laughed so hard that a little wee came out!

and even after all of this she tried to find out what was going because none of the teams knew, props to you hommieeee <3

After 7 pages of this thread I thought I should share my experience during the judges feedback meeting.

- there is no mistake that NSM had a solid , creatIve routine and I don't want to take that away from them.

- us 5-6 teams waited almost 1hour to go in and see the judges. A lot of the NSM parents and ppl who appeared to be siblings were in and out of the room , opening the door yelling at judges and cramming the whole hallway.

- at one point one of the NSM members walked out of the judges meeting yelling ' f*ck ubc girlz' and my jaw dropped because 2 of the judges were pretty much ubc captains.

- 2 parents walked in, pointed to the judges yelling ' tusi bhangre te kalank ah' -- ' you guys are an embarrassment to bhangra.

- parents/ siblings staring straight at me and pointing going ' you already paid the judges why are you here?'

- myself, mbt, steel city, washu at one time were speaking about how disrespected we felt because NSM was going off about how one of the placing teams trophie was not deserved.

- i was the last person to see the judges and just by the look on Kiran Mander (judge) face it looked like she was ready to cry. I have so much respect and look up to UBC, I'm always posting their stuff on btf and to see them put in a position like that by ppl easily 8-10 years younger blew me away.

- what rangla pulled made the placings of 3 teams look like a joke after the months of hardwork that we put into our routines to get them and it also humiliated NSM--- you should have thought it out a little.

I can't imagine any committee on the circuit ever accepting this team again. If they do, they'll either be ignorant about this or pure idiots. Just my 2 cents.

I believe NSM are going to Jashan Bhangra in April and the committee accepted them before this incident took place. Personally, as a competition organizer, I would not allow them to compete at such an amazing comp (Jashan).

[SIZE=small]While I was involved with Bruin as a committee member and not alum, we had "troublemaker" teams apply and accepted them. However, we did not confirm them until our expectations were understood. Fortunately, our version of "troublemaker teams" were teams known to start fights...what NSM did by far exceeds anything I could have ever imagined. If I had the misfortune to have them in my line-up, I would not hesitate to call and say, "Sorry there is no longer a spot available for your team. You are not welcome at X competition. Here is your reg money. Good luck." The RPVD Committee would like to say this act of disrespect to our culture should not be tolerated and will not be tolerated. Raunak Punjabi Virsey Di is issuing a life time ban to Nachde Shaukeen Mutiyaaran And Munde aka NSM ^2 from competing at our competition.


At the end of the day this is a lok nach that we all participate because we love it. NSM^2 displayed rude, barbaric, and unethical behavior this weekend and there is no excuse for this. I understand that some member were respectful and to those members our sincerest apologies, we do not mean to drag you in to this, but we as a committee believe this is the right stand to take.

Wow Sonali Johal: This is the least classy thing I could expect from NSM^2 in this situation. Teams talk so much of "respect for the culture" and this shows that some people just don't give a shit. Let's not hate on one NSM member. (Remy, thanks for uploading WashU's video!) We don't know which ones were the disrespectful ones. I heard some of the NSM members took the time to apologize for their fellow team members and families. We shouldn't show hate. There's nothing worse for the team than this entire thread itself. They'll hopefully learn from this. If not, well there's not much else we could do, right?

Besides the poor organization and this post-competition soap opera, we still had a great time with the other awesome bhangra peeps that came to RP. Congrats again to MBT, PANJ, and BAR-B!

THANK YOU RPVD!! More competitions should take a stand and do the same thing (even though "lifetime" ban is a wee bit extreme)!

Be sure to get a list of the NSM^2 members that were involved so they can't just form a new team under a different name!

I hope this deserves a lesson to these individuals, their captain, and the team in general. I'm very shocked that NOBODY from their team stepped up to control the situation/the rest of their team.. particularly their captain!

We need more accountability on the Bhangra circuit and this is a good step forward.

I'd also like to say too that some of the members of NSM^2 would never ever do what some of the members of their team did at Rangla Punjab. Remy is my cousin and I consider him as my brother. Him and some other members of the team are extremely polite, humble & nice.

Yes, I acknowledged that when I heard what happened I was extremely disgusted by the actions of those few members but please remember not everyone on NSM^2 acted in that way and apologized for their team member's actions.

It just sucks that it only takes a few members to bring the whole team down.
