Can we see a NSM @Rangla Punjab Video?
I have it but I've been holding off on posting simply because it's besides the point. Whether or not they deserved first is irrelevant to their behavior. Their behavior is irrelevant to Antar unilaterally crowning them first and swinging $3000 to them. The Judges themselves posted that they had NSM somewhere between 3rd and 4th, I figured that was enough for the discussion and once it cooled down I would post the vid later when it could be viewed without the immediate context of this thread, ya know?

But if people want it I can post it up sooner I suppose.
post it

I agree with Harman about how the NSM^2 response only makes them look worse. This will be my LAST post regarding this matter, but I wanted to stress a few things.

NSM^2:

Besides your lack of ability to formulate an easy to read response, why have you not addressed the JUDGES? They clearly should have been your "target audience" instead of quoting a bunch of others who posted here and responding to non-relevant issues.

Reread the response given by the judges because they clearly mention the disrespect you showed them and they clearly mention how some of your family members/friends/groupies got involved. There are people from other teams & audience members who have spoke up about these incidents as well. Please accept that these are all FACTUAL ACCOUNTS and we are all well aware of them now.

If you're so confident that the "new" placings were awarded to you based on your scoresheets, why not be accountable for the scores you received and push Antar Hothi (whose clearly acting on her own behalf & not the entire Rangla Punjab committee -- see Mandi Narwal's response here) to publish the scoresheets for everyone to review?

Lastly, how can you demand "justice" from BTF when Sonali Johal (your "responsible" captain) stated "Stop crying on online forums.. just suck it up princess'z" and then you state in your response:
NSM2 said:
If we start speaking in the context of our parents, all of us are spoiled little brats because we have time to waste on pointless online forums.
If you really think responding to you is what we dream about doing all day and if you think calling out teams & competitions on a public forum for their lack of respect/lack of organization/flaws in judging/etc is "pointless," then clearly we have much bigger issues to tackle.

Remember that every team going to this competition paid a registration fee, which went toward competiton expenses (prizes included), so why should you NOT be called out for walking away with the first place $3,000 prize when it was not deserved (according to the judges)?

If NSM^2 got screwed over at a competition (let's say some random competition stole your registration money, never reimbursed you for travel expenses, or clearly rigged a competition), your members would be making the biggest deal about it here and probably other places (i.e. facebook).

All we, as a Bhangra community, ask for is teams to show respect when attending a competition (to the audience, judges, committee, and to fellow teams). In return, we EXPECT the organization of to run smoothly and be as transparent as possible when making decisions.

First, we would never apply to RPVD. Second, your own actions that night and in the past don’t reflect any type of professionalism. Fingering us at the competition during our performance,
What exactly happened in Vancouver? Someone got fingered on stage?!
LOL punkass, i missed that, glad to see you have a keen eye for detail.

Just to clarify a few things Rishma. I did not finger your team if I did I would man up to it. Somebody did and that somebody was an ex member of your team. I gave you guys a Thumbs Up, so next time you go calling people out please make sure you have all the facts.

Oh yea and one more thing ;) are you sure the re-calculated scores add up? According to you all 15 Members of NSM wrote this [edit] you wrote down 16 names. So re-calculate that ;)

[quote ]
15 members that make up this team and are the feelings of this team in its entirety.

Sincerely,
Rishma Johal, Ramnit Basi, Taran Shergill, Mark Cheema, Amit Johal, Satvir Hundal, Simran Sidhu, Manvir Hundal, Sonali Johal, Dhanvir Hundal, Sahil Chawla, Gurvinder Sandhar, Ajay Hundal, Simmy Sidhu, Ashley Rai, and Prince Agnihotri.

Hey I'm not really keeping up with this discussion TOO much. Just read a few things here and there, and I think I posted once after it got all crazy but I have a question. The name I quoted above... isn't that the person who had the mean fb status saying people should get over it and stuff? I mean I didn't read what NSM wrote because it's way too long, but if it was anything of an apology, this one name being in it after writing a status like that makes me question the sincerity of it.

Moderator's Note: Getting complaints about harassment on Sonali Johali on fb. She is apparently, NOT the captain of the team btw.

Regardless, please do not harass and stalk fellow members.
Don't do anything stupid folks, please.

Mistakes are made, we hash it out, and we move on. If you need to contact someone I encourage you to please contact Antar Hothi who is the organizer of Rangla Punjab and the one who adjusted the placings with your inquiries.

Kiren Jhutty- “NSM...I didnt want to say anything directly to you guys bc I dont know you. All i know is what I personally witnessed that night while waiting to speak to the judges. To the rest of us, it looked like your ENTIRE team was taking part of the "riot", along with your parents and groupies. I'm TRULY SORRY that those of you who weren't a part of it must be clumped in with THAT same group of people bc you are on the same team. The way those individuals acted towards the judges and the rest of the teams is unforgivable and props to RPVD for taking a stand. I hope Jashan follows in your footsteps. No, its not fair to punish the whole team, but if I was in your shoes NSM, I'd consider dropping thsoe that have brough this upon you....real quick. I know the actual placings were changed by Antar but if you wanted to fix this whole mess you guys could've told her you wouldn't take the placing change THIS way...that would have been the RIGHT thing to do, not flaunting on FB that you were given first place bc you rightfully earned it. I don't regularly posts on BTF, nor do I try to be a part of the controversies that are addressed here but after seeing the iphone pic of the status update (directed towards MY team) from your "captain" I just wanted to point out how completely immature you sound and it just confirms to EVERYONE that you show no sense of team respect, sportsmanship or remorse for what you did that night.”

That same girl sent the nicest reply to some member of your team this morning confirming that that post was in no-way intended towards your team. She even said that we have no problems with you or any of the teams no matter what they have stated on this forum. This is again a completely baseless post that you just seem to be venting out anger in without speaking to other members of your team who we have been extremely courteous too.

That nice reply was sent to me because I asked if it was directed towards us. Your team mate told me no that it wasn’t directed towards us and that we (all of BTF) interpreted her status wrong, she went on to explain her side. Kiren's posts aren't baseless nor is she venting, and to inform you she had not only spoken to me but also read the reply from your team mate. I feel like what you all did that night was wrong (minus the few team mates including Remy because I had walked into your dressing room to tell him your team did a great job), and no matter what other teams have done in the past what happened that night should have been avoided. The controversies have been brought to everyone’s attention, and you all claim you had no idea about what the RP committee member was doing. I am positive the ones who wanted the placing knew exactly what was going on behind closed doors. I hope Michigan gets their prize money. I watched them and they DESERVE first. The judges are all on the same page including all of the teams that were there that night, your captains FB statuses show the INJUSTICE your team mates are capable of. Stealing first place is wrong when you were actually considered for a tie with us. So please when speaking about justice look around you at the people on your team before coming here on BTF and quoting everyone else besides the Judges, who actually deserve a public apology by your team.

kthanks I'm done 8)

Speechless..

This thread needs to be locked, immediately.. What's done is done, this is just adding to the insult and the demise of the bhangra circuit. Pointing fingers will never solve a problem, and that's all that I see here.

I agree the actions of both NSM and Rangla Punjab are out of context. Want to solve the problem? Don't accept them to your competition, and don't apply to Rangla Punjab. If you have a problem with either party contact them directly. Using vulgarity towards them in a public forum does nothing more than help us as a community to stoop to their level. Please remember, these girls are someone's daughter's, someone's sister's etc etc. It would hurt us if someone treated a loved one in a rude manner, called them a bixxh, etc etc. Let's please set a good example for the FUTURE of the Bhangra community with love and respect, regardless if they deserve it or not. It will build our character and make us more aware/stronger in the future.

Moderators shouldn't be in here adding insult to injury. If you want hits and numbers, leave this thread open. If you want to help stop the wildfire so we can all move on, then close this thread. Simple.

Love and respect guys, love and respect.

I heard about this thinking its a professional forum and really love bhangra but everything on here seems to be a disgrace. The amount of vulgarity and bad language is inexcusable no matter what happened. I am unaware of the situation but the teams and the organizers should be dealing with that anyways, why is it on a public forum? Why are other people speaking about it? Where is our culture when we are allowing all of this? I don't know who runs this forum but I don't understand why this is being allowed. Speaking about it only seems to be making it worse anyways.

Moderator's note: I was in class but Swi and other mods have been responding to reported posts to clean up ad hominem attacks and others. Swi has already done a sweep for duplicate members, but some are just newly registered.

The goal of leaving this thread open is to hopefully have a fruitful discussion now that the organizer, judges, and NSM are all present. Hopefully, with moderation, this can happen. This is rather critical event for the bhangra community and I don't accept "what happened happened, let's not talk about it" as a conclusion when there is room for resolution.

If it continues to just be posts to moderate or not add to the discussion, then we'll lock it as we do with other threads. Also as a side note, when moderators post with normal color as a normal post, it is our own personal opinions on an active issue within our community, which we of course are interested in discussing.

What everyone needs to remember is that there are siblings on NSM, Sonali Johal, Rishma Johal, and Amit Johal. Another thing to note is that Amit Johal is dating Antar Hothi (In charge of RANGLA PUNJAB!) Hopefully that clears some things up! And I believe Rishma is the captain of NSM!

Have a great day!

This IS a big deal ( a competition indefensibly rigging a competition, a team acting ridiculous and letting their parents get involved )

Anyone who says otherwise is living in fantasy and doesn't understand the value of a $3000 first place prize....

Exposure is the only way to avoid these situations. Organizers are within their rights to deal with NSM how they will, and teams are encouraged not to apply to RP. Scoresheets being posted means this whole thing is over in 10 min. Judges coming here and basically saying that it was rigged pretty much makes it irrelevant though.

This is literally the most ridiculous situation I've ever seen, and the lack of tact by Antar and NSM was a good learning tool for everyone else I hope.
