I think producers and directors focus so much on trying to be modern they don't look at how people don't necessarily need to see girls in small clothing or guys trying to act like there black or black guys. When we did the Manak-E and Sudesh Kumari Deut video, we did bhangra in beach wear/summer wear and it was semi-ok because we did bhangra. But we were also told to bring "clubbing wear" which I didn't agree with because that's exactly what everyone see's. One video I really enjoyed was the Manak-E video where they had bhangra dancers on one side and breakers on the other. It showed the culture clash and was a little bit funny because the desi guys were really enthusiastic.

wow this is a terrible video. I agree that the whole "modern" thing had a huge impact on this video and many others. This influence has taken over videos produced in India as well, but there is not a particular thing that we can blame. One thing is for sure, videos with bhangra dancer instead of thugs and half naked women in them have always been my favorite. Maybe bollywood is to blame? lol

I also agree with Sunny Parmar. Nowadays, videos are focused to the people with an "American or UK influence" behind it. We see many people like Lehmber, Manak E, Jazzy B, and more with "gangster scenes" or other scenes focused on hip hop and clubbing. But then again, these people were also influenced by the UK and Canadian culture where these scenes are very popular. We see videos that were made in India with people driving some very nice foreign cars, but this is not what actually happens in India. They don't show the real Punjabi culture or traditions that are usually behind the lyrics of the song. I have to give mad respect to Pammi Bhai and Balkar Sidhu (many more) for showing our real Punjabi culture and traditions that still make us remember our hasda, vasda, Punjab.

also, in direct contrast to these pro-thug life types of music videos we are seeing nowadays, the video for tootah waley/ Khoo was done really well. the singer is driving a tractor, there are proper jhummer dancers, and to switch it up there are also bollywood style actors they cut to here and there in the video who are funny to watch lol they kinda remind me of afghans tryin to do bhangra haha so its sort of village and modern at the same time without the typical club stuff, cuz they are in fact..in punjab.

Videos are getting so generic. They all look the same, especially the ones with duets.

1. Jatt walks by the girl and they exchange flirtatious looks
2. Bad guy comes up to the girls and starts chehring her
3. Jatt comes running with a (field) hockey stick
4. Gives a quality ass kicking to the bad guy and his compadres
5. Jatt walks away with the girl

Side note: Also, in the background you'll have wierd looking dancers (dressed like Zoolander) doing even wierder looking moves. Jagga515 you're right, the videos look so much better when they just have bhangra dancers instead of poppy dancers.

Yea, sher punjabi video sucks. It is not even the modern aspect, just the amount of effort put into the video. Getting all your boys and a camera, and rocking out in a parking lot....

Pseudo-Bhangra-esque Hiphop, Girls in Short Skirts, Scandalous Dancing and a Hideous Girl. Seriously, every time that main girl winks or turns her head, I vomit. Poor Kam Bhamra, I really liked this song.

Personally, I don't mind the 'gangsta'/'thug' vids. Check out the "Tohar Punjabian Di" vid - it's similar to the "Sher Punjabi" but it has random dudes do bhangra next to cars and stuff and they're not bad. However I cannot stand these Time Das Ja vids.

I'm almost positive they're members of some Canadian team. The video was shot in Canada.
