shift back to co-ed?

I remember when in 2006 all guys teams were winning, even in BB2006 all guys teams placed.
The past year and this year there seems to be a shift...I feel more co-ed teams have been placing....lol and the preparties have gotten better with it not being a sausage fest...

what do you guys think..is being co-ed back in?

For your answer, please see the results of Boston 2007 (3/4 coed), Bruin 2007 (3/3 coed), Socal 2008 (2/3 coed), DDA (2/3 coed), and all the others where coed teams took first like Miami and VIBC.

Thank god... there is nothing more boring than watching 12 guys perform ultra traditional bhangra for 8 mins....

It's interesting to see the fact that the co-ed are really getting better and showing up the all guy teams. But in some regard, there is no way to compare some guy teams with co-ed teams. Some guy teams are just great.

I wouldn't say that it is a shift back to co-ed, but more of an even balance coming in. Yes a lot of co-ed has won and placed at competitions which is great compared to last year when its was mainly all guys teams winning, but I would have to say there were still a good amount of wins and places for some good all guys teams including SGPD, Heeray Punjab De, etc.

Co-ed teams got so much more traditional now before it was lot of gimmicks and the girls dance at the same level as the guys on the team which makes it bettr.

If the girls dance at the level of top all-guy teams, then co-ed teams have an advantage because they can do partner sequences, more interesting formations, acting, creative stuff... not that other teams can't but it's easier for co-ed teams. Plus, silly as it sounds, there is the cuteness factor for co-ed.

I think these days co-ed teams are just stepping it up more creatively.

I think in some cases you can find that same idea of acting and creative stuff from guy teams...
namely Sher Foundation...i think it was bruin 2006 where the acted that one little piece and they got 2nd for it. I think it's all about creativity.

I agree... I don't know if co-ed teams are just being more creative right now, or if they have an advantage. UBC Girlz girls did some real creative stuff and acting in their "Real Girlz Do Bhangra" routine awhile back (the one with the lil exercise/workout sequence). They always pull out some memorable stuff.

What do you call a non-co-ed team? single-ed? Lol it's annoying to write co-ed vs. "all-guy or all-girl", if you get what I mean.

Oh come on! You can't deny the cuteness factor! Haha, when co-ed teams do guy-girl partner sequences, only co-ed can do it (not that single-ed can't be cute, too) :]
