First, we would like to apologize for forgetting to tell everyone about the change in the contest. We initially wanted the contest to have 2 winners; 1 Local and 1 International. Unfortunately, we were unable to get the response we were looking for to make this happen, so we went with 1 category that is compiled of both Local and International applicants which will have 1 winner. We also intend on doing the same for the Producer Call Out unless we get a large enough response to be able to have 2 separate categories. We apologize for any inconvenience.

i saw the registration package.....it says the audition has to be acapella....then why is nikki's not? Ameet maybe you can clarify...if you dont follow the rules what is the consequence?

From what we recall Nikki's audition is sung with no music just a dhol in the background; as does Kanwar. All we are wanting to do is promote South Asian talent within the community, hence this opportunity is to showcase these talented people and to engage in an activity that allows them to show-case their personal talents.

Im really sorry you feel like i'm singling someone out.Ameet is running the competition isn't she? If not then i stand corrected.As a professional establishment i do not think it is wise YOU call out your intended audience on a SIMPLE question.Acapella is singing without instrumental accompaniment.Its very unfair to the few who sang it without any sound in the backround. It is not a fair judgment of vocal ability.I know a few talents from my freinds music school who would have applied had they known the choice of singing acapella was not a rule but an option.Please do not try to acknowledge my appreciation for your contest and then throw me a low blow. Your PM was enough.Let that be a lesson for future replies.Don't PM and then hypocritically call someone out on a public thread.Defeats the purpose of sendind a PERSONAL MESSAGE.I would have removed ameets name from the previous post as you asked had you not singled ME out.

Yo dude chillax. It is just an armature contest and should not really be taken this seriously. If you read what Josh Bhangre Da is all about it’s about trying to eliminate the rivalry, unsportsmanlike conduct in the bhangra community when it comes to contests and competitions. And what you are doing is totally opposing what JBD and Straight Rocked Entertainment Inc stand for.

On that note I would like to congratulate the top 5 on their job well done so far. And good luck to the remaining 4.

Dear NDbhangra87,

Thank you again for your reply. We appreciate your concerns and criticism, as it will only enhance our product and help us to make improvements for next year.

Regarding these concerns, it is not stated within the Singer Callout Registration Package that singers are required to with-hold the usage of any instruments within the audio sample. Further, the term "Acapella" is absolutely not present at any point within the package, nor is our call-out categorized as one incorporating such a vocal method in any competitive audio samples.

In regards to the Personal Message, the PM was intended to be private - we were not publicly slandering you, but your decision to publicise our PM thread warrants a form of an 'attack' on us. If you have never before met this specific person, you are in no position to highlight his/her name in a public thread on a global forum.
