Not trying to be negative towards your team at all, just trying to understand how this might play out and understand the motives behind accepting two very different types of giddha teams. As I said, it will be difficult for the judges to fairly judge the two types of giddha (just like it is difficult for judges to compare modern to traditional teams as you said). Generally with the latter, though, judges are given a mandate or rubric on how to weight traditionality versus how many points are there for "creativity". It will be hard here to weight it one way or another.
I wish the team well and look forward to the Malwai Giddha that you guys bring. We (Cornell) did an impromptu Malwai giddha on about 20 minutes notice before exhibiting it on campus back in 2004 and let's just say it wasn't fully appreciated 8). Will be good to see a proper performance. I probably would have been super enthusiastic to see an exhibition Malwai team; the competing aspect is what worries me.
