Harman, whos getting upset? hahah, take yourself down a notch brother, your inconsistent analysis doesnt carry much weight.
#1) Jermaine Oneal is not healthy? The year he played only 44 games, was the year he was suspended for the Brawl. The next season Oneal played 51 games. The pacers went to the playoffs. He missed some games because of a left ankel sprain. The next season he missed 13 games because of swelling and soreness. The next season after that, was last season, where he missed games but could have played, as he has said in every interview, including Bird, even after the trade, that he would have been there every night if he was playing for a contender.
So because a guy has been off and on for a couple of years doesnt mean hes ruined goods. He is 29 years old, still a young guy. So, his injury problems stem from one injury, and he is 100% and so, an injury concern is not as valid as you make it seem
#2) "Actually, it is up to the GM to assemble a team capable of winning a championship. The Heat GM was good enough to pull off a trade for Shaq and draft Wade. He should have won that year. But the year after, messed up. The GM made smart moves for teh Heat for a year, but then he messed up. What is your point?"
MY point is that a GM winning a championship doesnt mean he was the best GM. THAT IS WHY THE GM OF THE YEAR ISNT HANDED OUT TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP WINNING TEAM'S DID-- YOUR CRITERIA IS FLAW.
The Shaq trade was actually initiated by Mitch K, so Randy Pfund didnt really do much. Shaq was going to be moved (cant remember if it was him). He couldnt even keep his coach the next season never mind a winning team.
The GM hires the coach, it ends there. The GM cant be responsible for the sub par coaching. What Phil Jackson could do with a roster, is completly different than what Sam Mitchell could do.
OH BY THE WAY, First year as Colangelo as the GM, the Raptors won 47 not 27.
I like how you forgot to mention Dumars passing up on all those guys in the draft for Darko. Smart. Id do the same.
Yeah, you really believe that JErry West would do that to the Grizz for his old team. What are you talking about, almost every year the deadline, guys with huge contracts coming off the books are traded. It happened last year with Marion, everyone know he was going to opt out, and Miami wanted that space. EVERY year without fail, there is a trrade like that, so I have NO cule what your talking about.
Why Colangelo did the trade:
a) a one year experiment. The guy is healthy, the best frontcourt in the entire NBA. If not, the year after that his 22 mill will allow the raptors to have the most cap space in the entire NBA, the same time that Bosh can opt out, and become a RA.
Its a smart move, if you have one year to experiment, and the next year, you have trade bait, and cap space, then its a smart move.
You really dont get that eh?
Vick, go eat a big mac bro.
