Now tell me, you add someone who is 6'9 270, flies like a sprinter, jumps through the roof, and can play every position on the floor, shoot appreciably from 3, take almost everyone in the world on the dribble to that. They all of sudden dont have downsides(bosh his relative lack of consistent post play, wades wrecklessness). You can preach this is Wades team, but if the effort is there, Lebron wins. Why was it a big deal?

THIS IS THE BIG THREE BECAUSE OF LEBRON. Your proving this argument guys. In essence, you take either wade or bosh from this team and add appreciable players, this is still the same team(im saying add role playing guys, you can pick). Its where it is because of Lebron. Thats why cleveland fans feel dicked over. Hes asserting himself unlike ever before, and if he would have played this hungry in Cleveland, they would have won. Lebron has made BOTH teams go.
All fair points (though honestly i'm pretty confused at this point what we're arguing about... it started as basically one person saying that Lebron was right to leave the cavs cause look how talentless they in fact are... which is true, no matter how you spin it)... except for this, Ram.

Add role players? haha show me one player in the league that can fill wade's ROLE... you'll find zero. He is arguably the best shooting guard currently in the game, YUP BETTER THAN KOBE RIGHT NOW (you can argue this and i won't fight it but i consider it more of what you're looking at), except for his bit of streaky-ness which is partially due to his shoot first mentality (which is the TRUE mentality of a 3, hence hte playing bigger than he is) So what exactly do you believe is his ROLE on the team... since you actually said to me this may be wade's team but when LEBRON powers forward they win (Flash back to about a month and a half ago when wade went over 40 for 3 games out of four, or flash back to half the months of hte season where wade was averaging MORE POINTS than lebron... and i'm pretty sure theyre still within 1 point of another). Lol sorry bud, you're way off here. There is no role player that can fill ALL the roles of an All star... because then they wouldnt be a role player anymore. Wade carries teams himself, he seems to be more comfortable in certain roles more than others because HE CAN NOW.

second... i'll concede that bosh, ESPECIALLY now, plays a role position more... but show me more than lets say like 4-5 PF in the league that could play the way bosh does (yes is post game is weak, i'm a realistic fan we all know. Bosh needs to grow some balls in the paint), or even play in a way that bosh does NOT that would compliment the other players on the floor in a better way... You'll be hard pressed to find one.

i look forward to a "role playe"r that matches the greatness of dwayne wade... or for you to tell me what "role" wade plays lol.
You do realize kush that for long periods of time they were losing when wade was scoring in bunches right. Its th reason why the heat are praying for people like Troy Murphy: its because they need niche talent(I.E a specific skill like 3pt shooting, rebounding, defense). You cant count on wade, bosh, and lebron for that. Why, because they WIN games. That winning quotient means they do a little of everything at a much higher level than someone else.

Why is this important? Its important because sometimes, like when Kobe comes to miami, wades going to switch of scoring and shut down kobe, and expect others to pick up slack. Thats why a guy like Raja Bell, when he was a nuisance for the Suns, is important. You get a good perimeter guy who will slow kobe down(face it, no one really STOPS kobe but himself), then you let your stars go out and score and win games.

Btw I didnt say player, I said players. Of course no role player will fill the role of an all-star. Look at the bulls. Horace Grant rebounded and low post scored, Kerr and Kukoc hit threes, Rodman rebounded and played great defense. They didnt fill that team with superstars after Jordan and Pippen, they just filled the system with guys who did somethings real great and let jordan and pippen win games.

This is why deals for people like kendrick perkins are so huge, or why Centers who can post up and play good post defense are huge: You play well in a niche that people demand a lot, you get paid. Its why perkins has that contract, or why some stupid european centers you never hear about get 66 million dollars over 5 years. Heck, look up Anthony Morrow. He blows in all aspects...except hes the NBAs leading three point shooter and has a 9 million dollar contract. Espn is saying how people are coveting him, even though his defense is abysmal. Thats what im saying.

Notice how media outlets are painting the heat as desperate to get veteran talent...cause they are.

LbChoke....

Saab - You are correct..... many Heat fans are so obsessed with the Star power the team has and have completely forgotten that it takes a deep team to win..... Play calls matter... Coaching matters..... ROLE PLAYERS MATTER!!!!! I don't even wanna look it up but i'm sure they got a complete garbage record against Top 5 teams and/or a losing record against winning teams....

You can't win on Talent alone... you just can't.......

With so many games... and many minutes shared between the "big" 3.... they start showing signs of wear and tear..... and god forbid Lebron gets some sort of Injury in the playoffs..... Oh man, that would lead to a VERY quick exit.... :p

I think the only top team they've beaten is the lakers

lol yes many heat fans are, but most heat fans are dumbasses.

The team definitely has its short comings. And with our current performances, I have no right to speak, but all i'll say is this.

Don't make the mistake of counting us out early. We have role players and we have talent... what we don't have is a functioning system which optimizes the performance of both. When we find it, all this talk of "no" role players and "bad" coaching will vanish.

I will say we're weak in depth but we'll be okay...

oh also, if lebron gets injured, we still have dwade and chris bosh... 2 all stars. we'll be straight.

When Spoelstra (SP?) vanishes than the team might show up and live up to its potential they have..... which scares me, cuz they could possible run away with a few championships if used properly...

Kush, ill wager you a bet bro. If the Heat make it to the Finals.... ill put up a sign to your liking....... and keep it there for 3 months from the date it was put on...

However, if they don't.... ill get to design you a beautifull sig :)

The Heat are now 1-9 against the top five teams in the league and 1-16 on game tying or winning shots in the last ten seconds of regulation or overtime.

Chokers.

lol i have nothing to say to all the crap talking. let the season finish and the playoffs come.

Gifty, no bet lol. Not that i dont think it could happen, its just honestly at this point, even being a huge heat fan, i find my team far too unpredictable.

playoffs is all about matchups and its not a stretch that the heat beat a team 4 times before they lose to them and win it all. size is their fatal flaw but you never know what can happen.

i just dont understand how bosh didnt have a shot the last 9 minutes of the game when he was the best heat player all day. thats inexcusable. he maybe soft as tissue but you gotta give him a chance to get you some buckets late when the D is focused on others.

i cant believe chalmers was the most clutch player today lol.

THERE’S NO CRYING IN BASEBALL. WHAT ABOUT BASKETBALL?
March 6, 2011 · 5:55PM
by Micah HartOoooooh, boy. There’s a lot to parse from this tweet by ESPN’s Brian Windhorst
after the Heat fell 87-86 to the Bulls on Sunday. For starters:
– Heat coach Erik Spoelstra isn’t particularly known for playing head games with his players. Admitting to the public that members of his team are in tears feels like more of a Phil Jacksonmove.– Who was crying? The pressure on the Heat is really only felt by three players — the rest are just along for the ride. Just sayin’.There is a tendency amongst us all to view everything through the prism of immediacy, especially as sports fans. When the Heat started 9-8, I was certainly amongst the chorus who quickly judged the Heat to be inferior. Then, when they reeled off a 21-1 stretch, I felt silly for having written them off so quickly. But hey, that’s how we are as fans.Players, generally speaking, don’t necessarily react this way, or at least the players on the top-level teams. They know the game is a grind, and tomorrow is another day, and all those sports cliches they feed us during every interview. They have to keep a level head, because emotion often interrupts execution.Which is why the mood in the Miami locker room after today’s last-minute defeat at the hands of the Bulls is a little surprising. Yes, the Heat are flailing at present, having now dropped four straight. Yes, the Heat have struggled against the best teams in the league all season (they are now 1-9 against the top 3 seeds in each conference). But this is still a team with two of the best three or four players on the planet — if this slide is too much for them to handle, the playoffs could be a short and bumpy ride…Seen something that belongs on All Ball? Let us know via
email or Twitter.

I think damn near everyone outside of Miami wants to see the Heat fail (and the people in Miami don't even care about the Heat...weaaaaak fan base).

But that is a product of the way Lebron, Wade and Bosh wanted all the attention in the off-season and the way they hyped themselves up before they even played a game. If you want the hype and you end up struggling, everyone is happy to see you fail.
