I was in attendance, PCBCA killed it and many thought they would take first, until the Shan-E kids came on and majority of the crowd was standing by the end of their performance.

Its very hard to judge who deserved first place as the PCBCA guys are all much older (my guess 16-20) where the Shan-E kids were much younger (10-12). Its impossible to compare two teams with a 6-10 year difference in age. But in terms of executing all the moves I think PCBCA was obviously much better but in terms of overall performance and crowd response it goes to Shan-E Little Stars (for those at the VIBC mixer, it was the same kids, but more of them and much cleaner).

3rd place was really up in the air, congrats to PFA, they were very high on energy, but it came to the point where it was all energy and started getting sloppy but nonetheless they were entertaining.

If it were up to me 1st - PCBCA and Shan-E tie

Great job to all the kids and their coaches, this was my first time attending a junior competition it was great to see so many of the youth doing bhangra, its good to know the bhangra circuit is in good hands for the future.

So first off I'd like to say i was very pleasantly surprised by the comp, all the teams did insanely well. Congrats to all the placing teams, everyone else did an amazing job too. Every comp says this, but this time score sheets really were close for all the teams. And to the girls on PFA and the guys, i think on PCAC that got injured I really hope you all are feeling better. Everyone danced there hearts out, im really proud of all you guys

Second, i have to say the organizers did a really good job, it was a little crazy at the beginning but after that everything ran pretty smoothly. Props to Manisha and TJ and the rest of the crew, it was a great experience volunteering with you guys.

Lastly, V.I.R.S.A (charity org, no affiliation to the comp) was supposed to show a video at the competition but sadly there were technical difficulties, so i just wanted to put it on here to get everyone's opinion and so that at least you guys can see it :).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zna44_-7Ryo

It was made a bit last minute, because we didn't know there was going to be a projector to play a video until 2 days before. Thanks alot to Jasleen Kaur for recording for us and putting up with our way of recording, and to Utsav Bains from Education Welfare in Chandigarh for providing the video clips of the orphanage.

Also, the beta version of our site is up at http://www.myvirsa.org . We will have nonprofit status within the next 2-3 weeks until then sales, and donations will not be able to be collected.

All feedback is welcomed and appreciated.

It was great meeting everybody yesterday, if any of you are still down here hit me up!

Thanks,
Akhil Chandan

As a seasoned bhangra dancer myself, I thought I had the experience and the physical strength, along with the rest of me team, to at least provide some sort of stand against the Canadian horde.
I've never been so wrong in my life
Each team from Canada displayed such expertise that it was more of a humiliating experience than an enriching one for me-as I was given a year's supply worth of ownage on a golden platter in a single hour watching them dance.
PCBCA was absolutely amazing to watch though. I've never seen such constant energy in such a high concentration for such a prolonged period of time.
Shan-E-Punjab was particularly painful to watch because I was essentially being schooled by kids who aren't even potty-trained yet. Someone please tell me when they have try-outs, I'll be the first to sign up.
What I learned from the Virsa Competition was that only US teams should be allowed to compete in US competitions. Something is in the water in Canada...maybe they have Bhangra Juice there or something. Regardless, they're too good to compete against their southern counterparts.
The team from Washington also did extremely well. I hope they never compete in any competition that I'm in (same goes for you Canadians).

I swear...they have some sort of geographical advantage. I bet in Canadian competitions they must be like, "8 American Teams are coming, no sweat."

Damn you, Canadians, damn you.
But much respect, and much love.
