Virse De Waris @ Tracy Mela (2010)

Here is our video from a mela we performed at yesterday in Tracy, CA. We had to wear shoes on stage because the high temperature outdoors caused the surface of the stage to heat up so much that some dancers from teams who performed before us ended up with burns and cuts on their feet so severe that they had to be hospitalized in some cases. But it was an enjoyable performance and experience for our team nonetheless.

Virse De Waris - Tracy Mela 2010

Feedback is appreciated.

That was a pretty sick choreo. Yea, norcal mela sometimes suck because of the heat, I've definitely performed on stages like that and had blisters that lasted hella days. I'm not a huge fan of mixed color vardiyan. But, I really liked the performance, keep it up bro.

Not gonna lie, that was pretty sick. I like straight one color vardiyaan better but the multi-color didn't look bad at all. Were you guys going for like a Gabroo Shokeen look or something like that? And yooo, I LOVED the Bindrakhia phumniyan boli haha. Is that an actual traditional boli too because I would love to hear more teams sing that.

EDIT: Also, didn't the same thing heat issue happen last year possibly at the same mela even, where people had to go to the hospital because of burns? Holy shit... But props for dancing with shoes though because I dunno at least for me, I always gets tired ten times as fast with shoes on because they weigh me down too much.

Bhangra seems so silly when sneakers are being worn, so weird to see that.

We didn't have much of a choice, the team that performed before us was struggling to even walk after their performance and after talking to the organizers this was the only option we really had, we didn't plan on dancing with our shoes but we had to make the best of the situation. Even through our shoes most of us could feel the heat of the stage through our feet as we were dancing.

Thanks bro, the change in vardiyan was just something we've been meaning to try for a while and decided to give it a try at this mela. As for the phumaniyan boli, when we came up with it it was just our own idea and I don't believe we have heard it before in live sets.

Not sure if similar issues with the heat occured last year but dancing with shoes was definitely a little more tiring than dancing barefoot as we are all used to.

this was a sickkkk set...the sneakers are distracting..hahah..there was indeed an issue with a hot stage at a mela last year too..can't remember exactly what team ran into that problem..but whatever the case..you made the right call..its best to stay safe than torture yourselves

every time i see virse de waris..the choreo seems to get better as do the dancers..

i LOVED this performance. it was really nice watching you guys perform live. i had to perform with shoes too and it was a mission to dance in them because the carpet was kind of slippery. and the heat was unbearable...i downed two water bottles after lol...good job guys keep it up. btw i have a video too if you guys want it.

it was sick watching Virse // Heeray at tracy mela on Saturday. It was hot as hell and poor kids had blisters on the feet and bleeding performing on the same stage. Good call made by Palli paji and the mela organizers to have the dancers wear shoes on stage. Jasbir killed it on the bolliyan i wish he should have stayed and sang on stage insted of me hearing satwinder satti singing a stollon song of maninder manga that he is about to release ODO RABBA KITHE SEH.
YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.

Heeray Straight up killed it on stage and it was fun chillen with randeep and clwoing on teji about his broke ass punjabi hahah

overall good mela for first year in tracy.

Awesome, red and yellow jodis are sick. Can't wait to see you guys at Bruin!

Oh and our entire Columbia team got second degree burns on our feet performing outdoors two years ago, we were all walking around with orthopedic shoes for a week. So good call on the sneakers.
