White/Blue screen on blackberry! HELP.

Whenever i turn on the bold 9700, the screen comes up white with vertical lines... anyone know whats wrong? when i scroll the screen changes colour...from like blue to white or dark to bright. AND theres an orange flash at the top...


Note: i dont know how to use blackberries lol

You may need to upgrade your blackberry. Try plugging it into to your desktop, go on the blackberry website and check for any updates. It could be a screen problem too, it happens to touch screens a lot. But, in your case the bold is not a touch screen. A tip for the future is to take your battery out once a week. It usually helps your blackberry last longer and it's something a salesperson wouldn't tell you. If Verizon is your provider-- then you have a one year manufacturers warranty. See if you can get it replaced, if you can't fix it. That's all I really can think of but, if you haven't updated your blackberry since you've purchased it. You may want to go ahead and do it

yeah definitely try what sonia said. I have the 9700 also but I've never had that problem. First thing to try is the battery pull, if no luck with that. download the newest version of blackberry desktop manager and upgrade to the newest version available from your carrier. If its not a screen issue, definitely sounds like possibly corrupt software or something.

well last night i updated it to 6.0, and the same problem still occurs but now with darker blues...and when i turned it back on i actually heard somethng.
Any other suggestions guy?

This happened to my BB when i dropped it. Also happened again w/ water damage.

Try to make a call (just dail your house number and hit send), if you goes through it means your screen is faulty.

yeah i went to futureshop and showed one of the guys. He said its a screen problem, likely from a drop or something. Just gotta replace it
