it's not that bad, let's not get into hyperbole.

SGPD has a legitimate complaint if they didn't hear the lyrics when taping. But outside of that there's not really anything that bad, everyone needs to relax. It's not the downfall of punjabi music, it's actually hilarious and well-written and super catchy

Well SGPD's presence makes it a legit song to begin with. I do feel sorry for them.
How can 'tatti' be catchy.. that's a little classless.
Poop and piss topics are best kept underground with no mainstream publicity.. like honey singh's 'ch**t' for e.g.

I agree with Navkarn. It's a joke and one with a hilarious punchline that no one will see coming. SGPD didn't even know about it nor are they publicizing it or promoting it.

I seriously doubt this will be broadcast on any mainstream channels accessible by desi families. You think JusPunjabi, B4U Music or TV Asia are going to be showing this on their music shows? Hell no. No one is doing jugni to this at a cultural show. SGPD or HOB aren't promoting this and anyone who has access to this has plenty access to much worse and less hilarious things on the Internetz.

I was referring to the reaction from our elders, not our generation's moral turpitude. The bottom line is, due to social media, i am sure some of SGPD's family members have seen this video, and word spread around that their son's/nephew/cousin's team is in it. That is embarrassing/besti for a desi person. Not saying desi people of our generation are above this type of video, I am saying that notions of family honor are still very strong, and a video like this can cause major issues in that regard.

yea, no clip in the entire vid with the sgpd guys and the singer or the girl in the same frame. looks like they really are just clipped in when the tumbi comes in. maybe they really are just dancing to that instrumental. i doubt those guys would've willingly done something like that, especially since they run an academy with kids and parents so actively involved.

PS. If you read the message under the official video by Zameer:

Clearly someone is lying here or it wasn't clear enough because per Rajbir from SGPD:

the artist had never mentioned the song would be of such content.

Does it really matter? SGPD can give back the money and have Zameer just edit them out, wouldn't be difficult at all. Who cares who's right or wrong, they don't like being the video and that's their prerogative (it's possible they heard the rough idea and didn't think anything of it and then were pounded by parents after all....). It's pointless to judge/worry about. I hope it works out for you guys without too much more drama


I think the song is hilarious and hum it all the time (especially after a big lunch). It's not made against anyones culture or ethnicity or anything, save the outrage for real issues.
