DJ 1 gets my vote. D2 1 just did a generic "hype" mix.
Quality of both were sub par. Neither were enjoyable to listen to since majority of the time all I heard were were the back beats, and percussion.
Remixes should never drown out vocals. DJ 1 could have easily ran away with this if they...
Both are pretty bad.
Sounds like both of you went through your samples and just started layering things till the original song is lost.
But DJ 1 did a better job of controlling his hats, so he gets my vote.
Loved the song selection, but this mix did absolutely nothing to for the choreo or team. It actually took away from the set.
There wasnt a segment in the mix I actually enjoyed (call me "hater" if you wish) the tempo was the same, no difference was noticed between segments. And a dhol roll is...
I didnt go to Bruin but this is HUGE issue at all compt. It has nothing to do w/ venue but the mixes themselves.
Most mixer dont know much about the technical aspect about this, so you really cant blame anyone unless the teams have someone who does.
It'd be nice if every compt released the...
No one is saying to not make material, just keep it within your circle if you're really offended by people stealing your material. When you do any kind of work that you're going to post to the world you should EXPECT people to steal it one way or another. Its how the world works.
When people...
A lot of the major critiques have been pointed out already.
One major critique that wasnt pointed out was mix vs set. The mix did absolutely nothing to show of the choreo. In my opinion the mix did its own thing and the choreo did its own. There was no real "one complimenting the other."...
Great job for going live, I know its your first time.
Critiques:
Didnt feel like a live set at any point of the set. Looked like you took a your music set, removed the mix and added a live band. You can call it your "style" but to me this wasnt a live set.
Sure! What exact do you mean by it doesnt work. Does it show up in your plugin manager?
Sorry I dont have the cracked files anymore. I ended up buying the plugins themselves. Just google around you should be able to find them fairly easily.
Mixing itself isnt, but releasing remix (this could even mean you remade whole song, just used a stem or melody from original song, erc) w/out consent of original author/artist is unless song is under a public domain license (even then its a gray area).
This topic has been brought time and time again.
Its simple: unless you have gotten explicit permission from record labels (or owners of material) EXPECT IT TO BE REMOVED.
I really dont know why this concept is so hard to grasp. Specially since the algorithm from SC has gotten better and better.
Watch youtube videos, watch producers, mixer, etc.
Learn everything you can. Obtain samples on your own, dont ask for them.
