I have one funny story about your pandas Abhigames. I met them at Maryland Masti in 2006 (Fall) and they were just passing out T-shirts and info about performances. After the show, I bumped into them again, and they were hammered. Rishi asked me if I could give him a ride, and me and my little brother told him we could but that it was a pick up truck and not a car. They needed to go to the Clarion Hotel in College Park, on Route 1. So they agreed to sit in the back...more like lay down in the back while I drove. I'm not gonna lie...I took FULL advantage of the situation by blasting some hardcore country music and going over A LOT of bumps hahahahaha. THEY WERE FREAKING OUT YO hahahaha...to mess with them more, I told them that there were mad cops in CP, and of course driving with passengers in a cargo bay of a truck was very illegal...so I told them that they had to make a conscious effort to lay down the whole way. Once we got to the hotel, I drove around the back and let them out. They were so dizzy and disoriented, but they were nice enough to give me some free t-shirts HAHAHA

Fun times man...

I guess Sher did it, so we should probably do it...hahaaa

On behalf of the team, We would like to thank the academy...(sike naw)...

but on a serious note, ill be sure to pass the love to the geniuses behind TRB...see Rishi Bajaj (when he showed us Mukadma, i was like...W T F?)...great kid despite what people think with absurd amounts of talent..completely changed the fusion game too (see the pandas)...its a shame that he isn't dancing really anymore, but for people that know him...when he choreos or he gets ready for a show....its all business..kid taught me much more then i could even handle...and Bhandu (Rahul Bhandari..big part of GW Bhangra for quite some time)...and Shivvy.

I would also like to say that....if you are thinking about joining a team...GO IN WITH AN OPEN MIND..to be quite honest I thought I knew alot about bhangra before I joined TRB...oh was I wrong...as I'm sure Waleed will testify to as well (with his joining of MAD)...

The first step to learning is realizing how much you don't know.

My testimony: You're absolutely right Jeeti - its all about being humble and being open to expanding your knowledge and skill.

Also, kudos to th TRBers for a good run.

I so love them
I think I have their dance memorized ;D
Me too. I have their Booti segment memerized by heart. At burgh, when they came on, I was up on the balcony performing with them. My friends were like, how the hell do you know their entire performance? ;D I also have a practice video of them performing at the temple, which I got BEFORE it was leaked out.

I have a question though. I don't speak punjabi, but people told me the song Dhulla by RDB has very racial lyrics. I'm just curious on what they were saying, and if it is racial, then why did 3 rivers perform with it, even if it was just a gimmick song?

at that time, bhangra was not nearly at a level traditionally and such as it was now, so we did not really pay as much attention to the lyrics as we should have...I didn't have a part in the song selection, but I imagine it wasn't even thought about at the time, we danced for it cuz of the nasty beat..back then, no one would raise an issue with it, now its a bit different...I know you might say its only a difference of a couple years, BUT SO MUCH has changed in the bhangra scene since then...that may sound strange now, but back then...it wasn't even brought up.

Ok, thanks for the quick reply. I know you guys weren't intensionaly trying to offend anyone with that song, but I was just curious if you guys knew what it was saying and just performed accidently without knowing how it might affect people. I understand that bhangra has changed dramatically since your last performance. Athough, it does have a killer beat in the background. :)
