There needs to be some sort of bhangra showcase to send money to the victims in Gaza. They've done it for the tsunami and earthquakes in South Asia in the past.

even though we all know that the israeli lobby has an extremely strong presence in the political matters of our country, this video really gets into the nitty-gritty of how bad it really is. Alot of people always wonder why our elected officials dont stand up and speak out against what is done for and as a result of the U.S.'s alliance with israel, and what this documentary does is it puts it all in a real-life perspective. The politicians and elected officials are afraid to: they would get blacklisted, and thus bring a quick and overwhelming end to their careers. The one part that I loved was when one of guys said we can only hope that as the new generation moves in, they will realize that the harm done by the alliance with israel outweights its benefits. And that is the only way the American public will move away, and when all is done....israel will be left with no friends in the world.

Jesus this post has blown up. I have alot of catching up to do on opinions. I have to ask one question though. Upon skimming the posts, I'm wondering how much has this fight evolved. What essentially was territorial disputes (and yes, israel should be forced to follow the 1967 territory lines) has become an almost in-bred. Palestinians naturally "hate" Israelies and vice versa. Do you really think that this situation has the ability to be properly resolved? Or has it expanded to the point of inherited dislike between these two nations? I know i stated this bland. Still jetlagged lol. If it doesnt make sense, I'll try again later lol.

My biggest problems with this situation are the following two factors: The closed eyes approach of western nations to Israels actions (cough U.S.) in any regard, and the fact that 25% (last I knew) of casualties were that of civilians. This isn't an attack on hamas. It's an attack on the Gaza Strip, undirected. This casualty rate is absurdly high for civilians.

I'm gonna watch some of these videos and read some posts and respond latertoday/tomorrow.

The death of civilains, israel claims, is collateral damage as a result of their assault on hamas and the rocket launch sites. Do you really think that israeli's care who they are killing, be it a hamas fighter, civilians, children? To them, a Palestinian is a Palestinian, and they are all considered to be the same: 2nd rate citizens. israel is attacking palestinians with the plan of instilling fear into them and preventing the next generation of Hamas fighters from ever developing. But what they dont understand is that hate begets hate, blood begets blood. As a result of the palestinians being killed, there will only be more and more people who hate israel and are willing to fight for revenge and their freedom. So although there might be a inherited dislike from one generation of palestinians to the next, the israeli's are giving the palestinians new reasons to hate them everyday.

Its really just a shame if you think about it. The jews of israel, of all people, should know what it is like to be on the receiving end of the holocaust, and yet that is exactly what they are infliciting on the palestinians. They rounded up the palestianians into what can only be concentration camps, and robbed them of the freedom to live as humans. Out of respect for the history of their people and even just for themselves, israeli's shouldnt be doing what they are.

I dont get it.. What do you guys want the U.S. to do? Lets say the U.S. tells Israel to back off and Hamas continues to drop missiles in Israel, what exactly is every country in this position supposed to do? The U.S. doesn't need to engage itself in this because our bitches Israel is taking care of it... Israel is our biggest ally in that region and there is no way in hell the U.S. will do anything that conflicts with Israeli beliefs... It's a sad situation, but there's really no solution to it...

The U.S. just needs to get out of everyones business and take an isolationist approach to this.

Vick, its not ONLY about this situation. The U.S. always turns and looks the other way whenever Israel does anything. In this situation, is the U.S. condoning the deaths of 800 people, 25% of which are civilians, to destroy this terrorist group. Don't get me wrong here, I think the fact that Israel's attack on Hamas hardcore is necessary in many ways, but Israel isn't doing the right amount of distinguishing between Palestinian or Hamas-Palestinian. Rice has claimed theyre "trying to talk to Israel to bring about a cease-fire", yet see how things are going, and what the U.S. is doing.

Vick bro, just to answer a few of yours Qs:

Be fair and just. Condemn the killing of innocent civilians and stop blindly supporting Israel - a country that has broken more UN Security Council Resolutions than all other countries of the world combined. The day the US shows reduced support for Israel or calls out Israel for their actions - I promise you the United States will earn back a lot of respect that it has lost in the past 60 years.

Obviously there is something wrong with US logic. As a country we need to stop charging through with our 'bulldozer' foreign policy and actually think for a second before we blindly put our stamp of approval on Israel's every action. And I wouldn't regard Israel as the only ally, there are other US allies in the region that receive a lot of aid from us every year - Egypt, Saudia Arabia,Jordan & UAE

Right now the best solution is to encourage a ceasefire and work towards removing Israeli forces & settlements from Palestinian land. The situation will be much better if that takes place.

In any case, the loss of life is sad and terrible, whether it be Israeli or Palestinian. This Gaza tragedy concerns everyone, as it isn't just a Palestine vs Israel issue, it is a human rights issue.

You are wrong, nearly 50% or more are civilians.

50% or more are civilians because the Hamas militants are hiding in civilian infested areas like schools and other buildings... I'm pretty sure Israel is not actively looking to kill innocent people, a lot of the blame for civilian deaths has to be put on Hamas... They're bringing this upon themselves...

Waleed I hear you bro....

Vick Yaar,

Gaza strip is an 8 mile stretch of land with 1,500,000 people packed in. It is the worlds most dense piece of land in the world.

ALL OF GAZA IS INFESTED IN CIVILIANS.

Not to mention, Israel has already KILLED RED CROSS WORKERS and killed 30 civilians when dropping bombs on UN RUN SCHOOLS. There were NO HAMAS members in the UN SCHOOLS. Israel has the most advanced military technology in the world. Therefore they really shouldn't have a hard time spotting UN RUN SCHOOLS.

The Israeli intention is clear both by the numbers and the places they are attacking.

No. But we as a people all over this country need to start having charity events for the cause. The return will be immediate which is needed for the Gazans right now.
