Kamran, I was just using the latest statistic that I was aware of at the time. 50% is all the more apalling. And i completely forgot to mention the UN run school attacks. I was fuming when I had heard. Thats more than "blurred lines" between who Hamas and who civilians are. Thats a pure attack on Palestinian blood.

so i have a story to show how this is spilling over into the rest of the world.

My friends went out to a hookah bar/lounge this past weekend. One of my friends is this ridiculously huge (bodybuilding) kid of israeli decent. He is dancing with a girl, who teasingly tells him that he can dance well. He jokes that its cause he is israeli (why this makes him a good dancer, i'm unaware, but digressions aside...) A person nearby happens to be of palestinian descent, and overhears this comment. He approaches my friend, pushes him, and says "Get the fuck out! I hope you and all your fucking people die!"... I'll leave the results of this statement out. Thank god my friend restrained himself to some degree cause i promise he could pull a person's head off their neck. Now, regardless of having support for one side or another, HOW ABSURD AND IGNORANT IS THIS! This is the equivalent of me walking up to any of the numerous pakistani people I know, including some of my boys on the team, and telling them to fuck off, saying india's gonna blow their country off the planet. IGNORANCE???? Like blaming america for the actions of its nearly former dumbass president, or all israeli citizens for the treatment of palestinians. Just goes to support what i said earlier about this not being about territory and boundries as much as an inborn form of hatred. I was really shocked when i heard this.

The sad thing is that the more the Israelis keep killing Palestinians, the more hate the Palestinians living in fear will have for Israelis. The hate will be so horrible that when the Palestinians rebound they may not leave any room for forgiveness. These random killings are only feeding the fire with more reasons to feel so negatively about an entire people.

Kush, thats ignorance no doubt. But this is just once random incident, I would also argue that killing over 1,000 Palestinians for the sake of 'national security' is ignorant. Remember, the source of this "inborn hatred" is over 50 years of persecution and occupation of Palestinian territories.

I agree with you, a lot of it is ignorance; a lot of it is just is inbred religious differences; a lot of it is cultural/territorial. I myself will admit to making jokes about Jewish/Muslim situations before this all started. But now, I feel like a lot of people of Palestinian decent are acting up in such a way because they are angry, and can't control their anger. They're fed up and frustrated, as well as hurt in seeing what's happening to their people. When Sept 11 happened, there were a lot of people in America that would make racist comments to muslims, or people that may seem it. Its been mentioned before on this forum that Sikhs received a lot of harsh words after Sept 11 because of their turbans. Wasn't this wrong on the behalf of Americans? Were most of them uneducated? No, but they were scared, and they were hurt. Many people of Palestinian decent here have families pack home that are being significantly effected by this war, crime, holocaust, defensive strike, or whatever you may want to call it. There is very little they can do, and that leaves them scared. I'm not saying that this justifies them for attacking all Israelis that they see; but its a part of human nature, and its been a part of our history.

Don't get me wrong. Check my old posts, israel's actions infuriate me. But my friend isn't saying fuck palestinians just cause he's israeli! My point was simply to show how this fight has transcended its original purpose, like one of those situations where the fight has been going on for so long, the reason the fight started to begin with is almost forgotten among many. I think that the israeli attack needs to cease, and they need to wise up. The UN is considering an interrogation of israel for war crimes, as palenstinians have been coming forward saying that UNARMED CITIZENS NOT HAMAS have been assassinated! One thing if you ahve a terrorist, another if its a gunwielding citizen, but open fire? Unforgivable. The situation infuriates me, and im neither jewish, nor muslim. Yet it is sad to see these kinds of situations occurring as far as South Florida (which, by the way, is one of the biggest melting pots in all of the U.S...) I have a friend who moved from vancouver, and his attitude on racial differences blindsided me when we first met. A kid who never used to even look up at whites, blacks, or even come within 3 feet of muslims is now friends with all three. SOUTH florida (can't speak for the hick central and north regions) is actually pretty forward when it comes to racial equality). So to see this blind rage against an israeli just for being israeli, even if he has never set foot in israel or just disagree's with his nations actions, just goes to show what this has become, particularly in light of the Gaza attacks.
