u kno wats best about this is his facial expressions and that stupid shoulder shrug of his sooo annoying!!!!

and ok, him being attacked by a shoe. If u notice punishing people with shoes isn't much of a western idea. But, the fact that he's getting punished in an i guess eastern fashion is great because he never really did understand other countries and also i have no idea where i'm going w/this entirely....but when u get beaten up by shoes its to show you better never do what you did wrong ever again versus a fist is like oh you better just watch out....i think the guy who threw the shoe was greattt because he really does need a check on what he has done so he doesn't commit it again or so the US in general doesn't do anything like that again

Paurl, I know what you?re trying to get at... in Eastern countries the biggest insult is either showing a shoe at someone or even worse getting hit by a shoe. And to someone who thinks he knows or understands other countries he had no idea... the only comment out of his mouth was "Ahh, it was a size 10 shoe that?s all I can comment at this point," if I was him I would die of embarrassment...literally die!! He has to be the luckiest man alive...he's lived a life of luxury his entire life...literally F****'ed up the world and still had the chance of being the world's most powerful country?s President...not once but TWICE! Only in America!

I still think it's ridiculous if you guys find this funny, and no I didn't vote for Bush. No matter how bad of a President he was/is he didn't really have much control over how badly our economy effed up. It was a long process which started to show it's colors finally.

True.
But he should be tried in a fair and just court for war crimes.

...and the many many other government officials who had a hand in it? Was war necessary to begin with? Yes. But was it stretched wayyyy more than it needed to be? Yes!

I think around 80,000 Iraqi civilians might disagree with you on that one
....if they weren't killed because of this war.

Around 7,500 civilians (non-combatants) were just killed in the US invasion and bombing. Iraq has gone through multiple 9/11's each year since 2003. Again, I have no sympathy for Saddam and the Baath party, but the brutal death of so many civilians all for the name of WMD (when in reality it was for another 3 letter word). WAR CRIME.

And the millions who died due to Saddam Hussein would disagree with you.

That is a lot of people that died for nothing but it is understood that it comes with war, I may sound heartless right now but my prayers are with those who have lost loved ones. Imagine what it would have been like if Saddam Hussein was still in power?

Gabar ther is someone at uconn that is from the same village that saddam gased. not to say 500 isnt a number to care about, its horrendous, but 500 were killed. not thousands, not millions. obvi this person is Kordi, but even the Kords know that the US invasion exaggerated claims. but they arent going to publicly go against the US, as long as the kurds are gettin funded covertly by cia who are funding the PKK and the Baloch, and other minority groups in north Iran. (the Kordi want a homeland, and with US help tryin to destabilize Iran, they have hope)

i could go on and on, but please dont try to tell me BUSH is NOT responsible. he IS commander in chief. if u dont know anythign bout the wars there, and how they are fought, and exactly who is involved and in wat way, dont come on here with only ur skewed us media/fox news report knowledge. thnx.

theres alot more going on there than most people here, especially non middleasterners, will ever realize.

Are you talking about the Halabja gas attack? I am pretty sure that there were atleast a few thousand killed. http://news.bbc.co.uk/onthisday/hi/dates/stories/march/16/newsid_4304000/4304853.stm

Let's not do that, 9/11 was 9/11. There were no multiple 9/11's. Not that I completely disagree with what you said, I just hate when people use 9/11 as a measure or a discussion standard.

Taiymur is right, I think if people really understand the complex history of Iraq and its situation, it becomes even more worse. There is a sense of the United States covering up a failed operation with a larger, failed operation.

When you have Saddam Hussein a man embraced by the US forhis anti iran stance, there were pitfalls that led him to the "enemy". The United States in my humble opinion have a hand in each and every action Saddam did on the kurds and others, and I think others might agree. Saddam worked for the CIA. Saddam had a job witht he US, I think it was with the resistance twoards an Iraqi PM that went against US orders during the wars with the Soviet.

The Baath party mentioned by Waleed, were sponsored and funded by the CIA. I am trying to dumb this down, but George Bush, Cheaney, these guys LOVED Saddam. THEY KNEW of his actions against northern peoples, they knew his massacares that went largely unreported, however, in the interest of destabilizing Iran specfically int he Iraq Iran war, did nothing. Its ironic that the same actions he was hanged for, is what the US looked the other way for.

If it was not for Kuwait, Hussein would have continued their actions with the hand of the US firmly behind it. In my opinion, Saddam and the US both entities who used innocent civilians as a cover up for their actions. The US didn't care about those massacared, neither did the American interest groups. I sometimes laugh when I hear people say "GET BUSH", because those people dont realize that they are about ummm 20 or so years too late.

If you need to blame, blame the powers from the 1980's who allowed Saddam to reach the level he wanted to reach. They didn't bother to keep him in check during those times in interest of their own agenda. George Bush Jr. is possibly the biggest failure as far as how he went into iraq and what happened there. The innocents killed, the people massacared. However, as far as the deaths of the kurds, Saddams regime, who do you think let it slide? Do people remember the UN probe that was hushed away? America has a dirty dirty history.

Please don't tell me you still believe the US went into Iraq to put Saddam out of power, that was something that had to be done in order to achieve their greater goal. Saddam was an unstable and brutal dictator, no doubt. He killed a lot of innocent Iraqis under his 24 years as President, when these killings had hit their peak around the Iraq-Iran war, Donald Rumsfield was in Iraq shaking hands with Saddam and selling him chemical weapons (that he later used). America simply turned a blind eye to Saddam's actions as it suited America's interest to have an ally against Iran.

Several human rights agencies and the ex-Prime Minister of Iraq have categorically stated that the human rights situation in Iraq is the same as it was under Saddam, if not worse. (http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2005/nov/27/iraq.peterbeaumont) A large chunk (if not most) of the civilians who died under Saddam were not as a result of violence (as is the case now), rather from lack of medical attention, medicine and food. Saddam diverted foreign aid for food to his military and deprived his people of basic necessities. Invading the country was not answer to the problem, it destroyed the already weak infrastructure and now the country has plunged into deeper trouble.

I think the best gauge in this matter is the Iraqi people. Read what the Iraqi newspapers are writing and read the opinions of Iraqi nationals. I cringe to read these words but again and again I find myself reading the line "we prefer Saddam".

True, but I think Americans never understood what it meant to have civilian casualties until 9/11. Over 10,000 Iraqi and Afghani civilians died from US bombs falling through their roofs, yet there is no mention of them or memorial for them. The only way Americans make the connection of how traumatic it is to lose innocent civilians is from the events that unfolded on 9/11. Good, hard working, everyday people were killed - same has happened in Iraq & Afghanistan, let's not forget those people.
