people talkiing about a bhangra pagg is different than a sikh pagg and so on....i do not understand this concept whatsoever.............the issue isn't that its a sikh pagg is getting disrespected...its the fact that a PAGG is getting disrespected......a pagg is a pagg.....save yourself the trouble and don't wear one........
Turbo Brother, could not have said it any better... I held myself back from commenting due to people having their own opinions, but at the end of the day a Dastar is a Dastar... It is an article of the Sikh faith and it being used in Bhangra does not make it any less of a religious item to those who follow the panth...

I think the problem of pughs falling off can be solved by practicing how to tie a pugh/wearing a pugh. Most of the time a pugh comes off it is either the pugh isn't tied properly or the person thinks its 'too painful' or 'uncomfortable' and loosens it up before the actual performance and it begins to come off on stage.

We all practice tying chadras and they rarely ever come off (although yes they are much easier to tie). But a pugh is a big part of the performance...why not practice it? I can tell you from my experience, being on PDDS for 6 years, we never had a single pugh come off. I would argue the biggest reasons is our team took pugh tying seriously. Gurdeep Uncle/Manu Bhaaji/Karanvir all took the time at practice to tie the pugh on the dancers, so they would not only get better/faster at tying pughs, but also everyone would get use to wearing them.

I don't understand how this happens...but I can't mention how many times I've been to comps and people have come up to me and asked us to tie pughs for their team because no one knows. How do you come to a competition without knowing how you will get dressed properly? Shouldn't this be a concern before hand? There are plenty of videos on youtube these days that teach you how to tie a pugh. Just as you practice formations and dancing, why not practice tying a pugh?

A little off topic but ....

we actually know how to tie paghs a lot better than we do our chadras .... Can anyone help us on proper bhangra chadar tying techniques. (we've had to teach ourselves everything, and its easier to find info on paghs then chadras.) ;D

i understood the beginning completely fine...i was asking if the team members dancing...understood what jabar was saying.....he's referring to sardars getting hung and shedding their blood...im sure you know and im sure jabar knows the meaning of that.....but when the team has an intro like that...you have a responsibility to follow up that intro with shit that backs it up..not shit that goes completely against it.....accidents happen man, its all good....but i don't know how many times this has occured...but you'd figure by now.as waleed said..in 2009...at least 1 person would stop dancing at pick it up and take it off stage where it's not getting danced on by dancers

and as far as 'just a guy' goes....wow......i wasn't knockin on you earlier..i didnt even mention you ...i don't think anyone was knockin on you..i think ppl were just disappointed by the lack of someone just picking it up..it takes 5 seconds..............but after that idiotic post of calling a pagg a shiny piece of cloth and nothing else.......you shouldn't ever dance again man....you don't deserve a pagg on your head and do us all a favor and don't wear one until you realize it's a little more than a shiny piece of cloth........you could learn a thing or two from your teammate Jabar Singh who came here and apologized for something he didn't do....

and one more thing..people talkiing about a bhangra pagg is different than a sikh pagg and so on....i do not understand this concept whatsoever.............the issue isn't that its a sikh pagg is getting disrespected...its the fact that a PAGG is getting disrespected......a pagg is a pagg.....thats it...you're dancing to punjabi songs...punjabi people wear paggs...and when certain things happen on a STAGE....people will get offended..............so if u don't know what a pagg is and what that means....save yourself the trouble and don't wear one.............just wear a bandana or some shit.....as keyshawn would say.....cmoonnnnnnn man!
lol yaar main mazaak kar reha si in the sense that he never mentioned tht line... last line wz different lol...it wasnt "ohnu kehnde ne sardar loko"... even tho ur point is valid... chalo jo vi ... agley toh hogya..mitti pao lol.... i guess him n rest learnt how to handle d situtation for sure now lol ... cuz jadd takk apne aap te ni beet di...odho takk swaad ni aunda lol

Valid point, however in the video, it's Furleh aali pughrdi not Turleh wali. Due to not wearing a patka, it's very easy for the pughrdi to come off if you don't have kesh. In any of the performances at the competitions we competed at, we never had a single pughrdi come off because a patti is used to keep the pughrdi tight and hold the Turla straight.

we're gonna get bashed for going off topic :p

I'm from "Virk/Virkaan", the one closer to Phagwara & Jalandhar .. but I know there is another "Virk" closer to Amritsar as well, and whenever I see that name/last name, I always have the urge to inquire and so finally decided to make my move today haha :) Thanks for clearing that up though - Now lets get back on topic :)

LOL ummmm just a guy, weren't you the dude in the other thread who was bashing Shinda in the other thing about the EXACT same thing (disrespecting the pugh)? Now you're justifying your sh*t? Like turbo said, just stop dancing and stop wearing a pugh. Wow, justaguy = hypocrite. Thank you, come again.
