You know what made me feel like crying? When they made the kids chase after their water bottle while they were in tanks. That's really cruel.

i know it's taboo, but i still say it. i respect the troops who sacrificed themselves for worthy causes. but the iraq war is not a worthy cause...the troops in iraq have made no dif. for my freedom, maybe symbolically, but i am not that cheesy. they have a choice of whether or not they want to be part of an illegal war, by them choosing to be part of it, they are just as guilty as the bush administration...i neither support our current government, nor the troops who fight for its cause. i stand by my words, and if people want to get offended, they need to really think about the idea of patriotism...it isn't un-American to be against a war that has killed a million and the troops who have done the killing, it's common sense...i am not going to debate this, peace.
Ummm, somebody needs to educate this bondu on the legistics of war. Once you are enrolled, you can't say, I don;t agree with your reasons for the war, im not showing up. Some people enrolled way before the war even started, on the basis of defending their homeland, and didnt enroll in support of the bush administration

What we have here is a simplisitc reasonsing of a guy who is able to say FUCK the troops, but would probably shit his kach if in the same situation. It's one thing to be against the war, its another thing to be against the men and women whose enroll in the army for one reason, the DEFENSE of their homeland. They have faith in the government that they dont send them into a situation that is harmful and dont put them to war unless it is necessary. It was the government and the American people who let these troops down. These are young kids, who are not politicans. Some of them are satanic, and horrible human beings, but there are those in military who lost their lives for a noble cause as well. maybe the war was not noble, but the underlying sacrifice for your country calls on you is not a bad one.

you think the troops are as guilty as the bush administration? Who was the one who sent them to war? Who were the people (you and your american cowboy buddies) that approved the war after it started with an OVERWLEHMING RINGING ENDORSEMENT of President Bush is 04?

These troops are not politicans. They do what they are told to do. They dont have the ability to leave the force because of the reasons for war, someone needs to educate my little islamo facist buddy there. They enrol and sign up for good reasons, and their faith was put into the government. Because the government let them down doesnt mean they are as guilty as them...

By your reasoning, lets blame all the muslims in the world for the war with India, 9/11, Israel, Africa, America, Phillipines, Spain, 7/7, UK and all the other recent attacks. Because if all the troops can be blamed for the actions of the American government, then I dont see how all the muslims cant be blamed be the actions of those using their faith.

I lost a friend in Afghanistan. It was not even our war. He was firmly against the war in Iraq, and even afghanistan. He went there because his country called on him. He put trust into his country that they dont lead him to war for no reason.

Here, do this, go to your local town square, hold up a sign that says FUCK THE TROOPS. Otherwise, take that little feeling you have in your heart of immense fear by even thinking of doing that, and stay in your house.

Dont be like this nationalistic, islamo facist coward Faizan, realize that you can be against the war, but dont blame the people who in some cases decided to defend the country which does not necessarily imply that they support the actions in Iraq.

This kid needs to get slapped around...

Summy I think Faizan is trying to express his feeling towards the troops that made this video.

Faizan said he doesnt respect "anyone who sinks to violence... AKA MOST TERRORIST"...

Yeah because we know some terrorists like to settle their differences with diplomatic reasoning over tea and biscuits.

I guess the terrorists that he supported would have been the mumbai attack terrorists right? After Faizan was the guy who took offence that people put blame on Paksitan (and apperently rightfully so) rather than taking offense with the fact that hundreds of people were brutally murdered.

You can say fuck the troops, how would you like it if people said fuck the muslims?

Faizan is a failure of the American education system.. Summy please excuse his retarded statements and lack of ability to think like a normal human being... I understand that faizan is trying to play the "Im blunt, I can say whatever I want" card, but not everyone can pull it off like I do... I'm not sure where you were educated or who you hang out with, but you are a failure as a human, please go bust a "Plaxico" and save man kind from listening to your bullshit over and over again... You are a sad representation of the muslim population and I pity your people when you proudly claim where you come from and what you believe in...

Vick,

Dont worry I know what kind of chakkay talk like Faizan. You know the, "im hard, ill say something conterversial i dont care what nobody says because Im going against the white man" bullshit is fake, especially when I would bet my life that he wouldn't have the balls to step outside an internet forum and say it to anyone's face. In addition, what he said would have any self respecting man feeling like a coward to insult those people whose job is to do what the voters of the country say to do. Ahh fudhi deyaa, jai ohdey tuttay siggay, oh taah barr jaa ke kheynaa see, par ahh maa chodaa internet tay bolda jimme ohdey tuttay gullaa chh fass gay ne... India da vich, bundey aadey wargay nu barr vaat ke sitna see...

Why the mods crossed out me calling him an islamo facist, but keep his incredibly ignorant, disrespectful and idiotic statement of
"fuck the troops" is beyond me. He insulted thousands who have died not because they support the war, but because they promised their country that would defend them, and have confience in their government that that is exactly what their job would entail.

Why they didnt choose to delete "fuck the troops", people who are in harms way every single day, and people who do only what WE, as voters told them to do, is beyond me... Why islamo facist is more insulting to them, then fuck the troops needs to be explained...

Freedom of speech works both ways. If the mods wanted to effectively monitor the website, they would realized that there is real possibility that someone's friend/ family could be a troop overseas, and that saying "fuck the troops" would be incredibly offensive to those individuals...

What do people find more offensive... Islamo facist or "FUCK the troops"...

I'd like a public response from the moderators please.

P.S. May I add the following...

This is the same bund maraah that said people saying "fuck the troops" is TABOO. Are you a mental case? Either understand what taboo means, or show me where in the world people saying FUCK THE TROOPS has gone TABOO?

Faizan is the exact type of dude that separates and distances the world. He is the silent type, because people with his cowardly opinions never have the ability to step outside their comfort zone and say the ignorant statements they say.

I am as anti war as it gets. I am as anti this government as it gets. Everyone knows where I stand. But never would I blame innocent kids who have been trained to do what htey do, and sent into war by others and saying FUCK THEM. Because they dont pick and choose their missions. They cant tell them, HEY I AGREE WITH AFGHANISTAN and NOT WITH IRAQ. They are placed where they are placed.

Haha, I swear this little kid would have laid out if he was in CANADA, infront of an self respecting man. I am surprise that fellow amerians wouldnt beat the living snot out of this fruitcake. In addition, you look like a bondu faizan fix your buthaa. (let me know if you want me to translate my fellow "punjabi")

Paragraph 1: LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

Paragraph 2: I agree with Summy. Mods, I think you guys abuse your power sometimes. You guys need to develop some sort of system to distinguish between YOUR thoughts, and what needs to be moderated. Sometimes your moderater's notes are so irrelevant that they sound like personal opinions. Knock it off. A lot of us think this, not just me and summy. It gets really annoying sometimes actually.....Even though I don't agree with troops blindly going to Iraq and putting full faith in their government, they are still HUMANS who gave up their lives. So "fuck the troops" in the video, definitely, but not the ones who blindly went to iraq in search for a better life (seeing the world, funding for education, etc) than living in a shit hole like Flint, Michigan. Stereotyping a soldier is very problematic because their intentions are all different. I've met people who WANT to join the army so that they can carry and AK and kill ppl, like its their meaning of life. Yeah, fuck those troops. Karma will bite them in the ass one day. But faizan's comment was totally ignorant.

Hey guys,

Thanks for the suggestions. Yes, we can understand that sometimes the notes get annoying and sometimes they can be taken as personal opinions, so we'll definitely try to work on what has been brought up. We have conferences several times a day to discuss how matters should be handled, and we have a check system of what to do based on content. We do need feedback from time to time, so thank you. At the same time, please try to understand that moderating statements of peers (some of whom we know personally as friends) is a difficult task, so we're trying our best to establish peace of mind and safety when posting :D

Now, about Summy's moderation. There was a strikeout because it was a direct attack on Faizan for a comment he made. If Faizan's comment had personally offended a member of the bhangra community that serves in the U.S. military or is affected by someone enlisted, and was reported, than Faizan's comment would have also been moderated as well.

While this is a VERY controversial subject, with very radical ideas and opinions, (some of which are very different from our own personal ones), no one should be attacked personally. We know Faizan has said he does not want to discuss, but if he is able to be calm about his opinions and ignore some of the earlier statements, we invite him back into this topic to logically defend his stance, without worrying about attacks from others.

We hope this makes sense. If not, please message us :)

Faizan, I don't support the troops in Iraq either. Whenever I see guys walking around in public with their fatigues, I can't help but to just shake my head. Why is he wearing those clothes with so much pride? I'm sure after a while these troops, no matter how uneducated they are, realized its not a war to free iraq (Operation iraqi freedom), but a war on oil, among other things to further the american economy. They can't be THAT brainwashed that when they're handed a gun, they shoot whoever, or whatevers in their range. But there are more diplomatic ways to say it.

Summy,

I think Nikhil explained it well. You are welcome to state your opinion without directly insulting other members. Calling out someone by their name and degrading them is a different story. If you feel that you have directly been insulted/attacked by Faizan, please report the post that concerns you and we will review it.

As far as a non-mod response is concerned I agree with you 100% and your rational is correct. Most of these troops had no other option but to sign up for military service and as Meistro put it, a lot of them are good, hard working Americans. "F*ck the troops" is a very inconsiderate statement, rather a more educated stance is 'bring the troops home'. It takes a lot of guts to be out there in Iraq / Afghanistan, risking your life every minute while we sit on our comfortable couch at home and... complain? You're absolutely right and I stand by you on this issue.

As far as moderation is concerned,

Meistro,

I understand your concerns and we will address them at our next meeting, thank you for the feedback which we take very seriously. Our goal is to ensure all members can state their opinion in a respectful and productive manner. We do have a system but there is always room for improvement - member satisfaction is our first priority.

I know three marines; two of them are in Afghanistan right now and one is a reserve who is expecting to be deployed sometime next year to Afghanistan. All three of them have served in Iraq and all of them think we should have never went to Iraq. Still, they have served there and will do so in future if needed. They signed up to protect our rights and freedom, not to kill Iraqis or anyone else for that matter. Its the government that makes the decision to go to war and these soldiers have no choice but to do what they are told. Show some respect.

Nobody is calling those things. Content edited. You shouldnt sit here and insult, I emplore you to exress your feelings in public. Dont try to make us out to be some sort of patroitic, Bill Oreily type individual, we are the opposite. Its just our parents raised us with enough respect for human sacrifice, and enough brains to realize where the blame should be put in. Those who are forced to do their job, and those who started the war, and are responsible for it. But for you, if it was the Pakistani army, your would be crying tears. People wonder why indians and pakistanis have so much disstain for one another, maybe its because of idiots like faizan who say nothing face to face so you can beat the ignorance out of them, but sit at home and talk. These nationalistic idiots are seriously the white mans lover in public but stand up high in private.

Meistro's post was perfect, and he said everything right on the dot. Because he said "fuck the troops" and it wasnt a direct insult to the bhangra community it was allowed. However, when I call him an islamo facist, whose title is embraced by certain people, it was offensive.

I have said it before, there are times when you guys moderator correctly, but if you want to moderate fairly, you would have crossed out his ignorant statement that numerous people have found offensive. If you want to moderate correctly, moderate what the community finds offensive. Just because you may feel that islamo facist is a direct insult whereas fuck the troops isnt, I believe you should realize that alot of people like Sohaj were personally insulted by his comments.

Moderator's note: Please refrain from using direct insults.

Stand up for what you believe in...

Someone earlier brought up the question of what I think about Michael Vick because I go to VT. I hate Michael Vick as a person, what he did has no place in our society. I respect him as a football player, he is a gifted athlete... I don't know if we're allowed to split a person into two, but that's my view on Vick...
