you guys killed it.. I watched the whole thing live and it was very well done, my favourite mix of the night even though the sound system was mad weak.. you need a system like the one they have @ the bhangra fusion venue for that mix.. chan mere makhnaaaa was aecy, when the beat dropped it was too dirty.

personally I think you guys have a nice collaboration going, strong dancers with the folk touch and klasikhs music. His musical swag suit you guys a lot better then his mixes for other teams.. you 2 need to team up and perform a lot more together.

This was the favourite performance of the night for me. FOLK.

imho, after watching the videos of all the teams, I would definitely give JJ first. They didn't rely solely on gimmicks like most of the other teams did to make an impact. (Y)

Loved the song selection!

I remember sitting in the audience thinking ' now I know why shahrukh was tripping and sounded like he was going to slit his wrists on a daily basis'. And the song selection old schoool!! too sick. Hopefully it's not your guys last performance, too much talent on the team.

Iam glad I finally got to see Sheel, Barua, Shahrukh, Karthik, Jordan and Rishab dance while sitting in the audience and not side stage, like usual. It was truly a treat. Shahziab= Pure raw talent.

If we never see JJ compete again, I want to thank every dancer on the team for giving North America a taste of pure bhangra for years starting with VCU and then JJ. It was a honor to watch vcu all those years and a honor to watch JJ.

Wish you guys nothing but the best

EASILY the best set of the night! No ridiculous un-needed gimmicks. Should have won the comp.

In my opinion I think JJ is the clear winner of Elite 8 this year.

I was not there to watch the performances live, however after watching the video's I think I'm entitled to an opinion.

I think the debate is over JJ NYPD and UNC.

NYPD: Pretty good set... but absolutely no flow to the set what so ever. Only a few gimmicks we were executed well; the rest were just cut and paste. Furthermore, I wish you could see more bhangra in the set. Dancers were laying on the floor and pulling each other, "mary-go round gimmicks" were a trend in the set. But overall 3rd because of the wow factors that did hit. 300 gimmick hit harder last time. I wasn't a fan of the song selection.

UNC: Enjoyed watching their set. Good bhangra with some wows. Drum line and the UNC made with saaps were clever. would like to see more energy though. 2nd place in my book

JJ: Great bhangra. A lot of eye catching formations. If they had more wow factors I feel there would be no argument as to who the winner is. their execution was on point along with formations and a good mix. Their set seemed longer then others and they ended with energy. Well done boys keep your head up. 1st in my books

and lastly lastly lastly, It took me quite some time to realize that winning respect is far greater than winning trophies, for those of you still young in the bhangra circuit, please come to that realization now as it will make you a far happier dancer/team. I hope you all enjoy watching this performance as much as we did performing it. Good night.
... It's about damn time.

And +1

I don't think anyone should be going out of their way just to be respected. But when you dance because you enjoy dancing (and not because your hobby is trophy chasing), and you display humility, you earn other dancers' respect... and wind up killing two birds with one stone.

Congrats to UNC, there performance was pretty good, but imo, I definitely think JJ deserved first.

JJ was clean, folk, simple but at the same time had very appealing segments plus cool formations. Moves/songs like 5:44, 6:22, and 7:29(in the balcony vid) were sick and more stuff like that is much better than gimmicks imo. Another major thing JJ had over other teams is stage presence and nakhra. Having a sick routine without those two kills it.

I'm not gonna comment on other teams much since this is JJ's thread but a few other teams seemed to do too much. They seemed very gimmicky and had many stop and go gimmicks which I think kill the routine. I believe you also need to think of something creative and clever with Bhangra itself.

Sickest performance with the sickest teammates and the sickest mix. What more can you ask for? Congrats to all of the teams for putting on a spectacular show, the best one I have ever seen and have had the privilege to be a part of. Congrats as well to all of us who swear this was our last competition (we'll see, haha)

That was fantastic. Although I haven't seen a JJ performance in a while, this was world's apart (and ahead) of any JJ performance I've witnessed.

formations and transitions were phenomenal, showing that the dance itself could be entertaining without need for the gimmicks done by so many teams. the precision shows the of hours of practice that went into hitting these formations and transitions.

the presence of 16 dancers is leagues ahead of 8 dancers i've seen in the past. this performance showed how the audience and dance is changed by: presence of 16 dancers, song selection that resonates with them, BASSLINES that really resonate with them, ENERGY that surprised me and showed through to the video; CHOREO and MOVES that an old JJ would never have done. Where older performances are slow in choreo, movement onstage, and predictable in traditional choreography, this was unpredictable, fast-moving, entertaining, and constantly wowed the audience while still performing bhangra moves to bhangra music. You definitely knew your audience and changed it up, well done.

This was a great performance, bravo guys.
