should i be revealing trade secrets? ...sigh...

There are some programs out there (most cost money) that can do this, a google search may help. but before u start runnign around and dropping money let me emphasize this is NOWHERE NEAR PERFECT. dont expect to have a clip that sounds like no music was ever in it and the artist was singing acapella. you really have to have mixing skill because it is RARELY done perfectly. I can give you an example: here is a verse from Mitran Ne that I clipped and used the acapella for effect on a step in an old old mix (I can post the actual mix if anyone wants, its not fantastic but has some good effects I learned when starting to mix). Compare to the actual version which i won't post cause i'm 10000000 p ercent sure you have it Abhi. Now though its not perfect you can see how the music has been reduced, making it easier to blend. Thissss is how i do it. I'm sure pavan has some much better magic trick, but you have my jhoomer mix abhi. I used this feature on the Hoopeh's in the back ground. The rest i just blended together and equalized to work, didnt actually make it acapella.

Virtual Dj has that effect, BUT sometimes it doesn't really work. In virtual dj, when you go to the effect tab, there's an option to either remove vocals or remove the music. I doesn't really work well but, if you're lucky, it does a pretty decent job. But for bhangra, it's hard for virtual dj to pick out vocals and music. I'm sure Kush and Pavan know a better way. If you do, PLEASE let me know if you don't want to make it public.

Those filters basically reduce most of the bass and amplify the treble. You can pretty much accomplish the same thing with some solid EQ skills. A lot of times, though, it's not even necessary to do any fiddling. If you're good at selecting the right clips and adjusting the volume levels, you won't usually notice any clashing between the background music at all. This of course depends on the clips and the music, though.

yea that's what i basically do...i know its probbaly impossible to separate the song into acapella and instrumental, but if i could reduce the background half way down...i would do it for me...if anyone knows a trick or to...please help or PM

its not always about getn just vocals or instrumentals ..you gta beat map the songs as well (beats per minute - bpm). for example a jhummar song usually is about 50-60 bmp and a song like sher punjabi, is like what, close to 100 bpm. so to mix those songs it wud just sound off ...i use acid pro and ive been at it for about 2 and a half years now and when u first start it pretty rough and the mixes u make arent the best lol.. but overtime u get to learn what differnt things are and how they work (ex: reverbs, delays, etc). but yeah back to mixing 2 songs together...

so once u beatmap the 2 songs u wanna use, you set your session mix to the bmp that works best, what this will do is it will "adjust" both songs to have the same mapping of beats so you can just drag em out, cut and position em where you want. sounds kinda hard and when u 1st start it is but after you get the hang of it.

after 2+ years of using Acid Pro ive finally got the hang of almost all the featues that come with it...and i sure put them into use for our idols 08 mix, i gta say its by far the best mix i have ever made!

Abhi wat do you mean change the bit rate? you mean youre changing the BPM? Beats per minute? well okay. You know how you can count out beats, particularly when doing steps while dancing? those beats your counting out, if you counted for a complete minute = the BPM for the song. OR are you time stretching a song? like reducing it to 40-60% length?

kinda...like if i bitmap on Acid the loop part it changes that songs speed to 40..saying that's the speed... and when i apply the changes...well 40 is wayyy to fast

Yea, changed it to 40bpm is way too fast. Usually, when ever you use the beatmap wizard thing already included with acid pro, it usually just marks the song as ~120.00bpm. When ever I need to make a song faster I just bring the tempo down to about 110-115 usually does the job.
