Lol off course it is. Ghosts don't exist. Weird unexplainable things happen all the time, doesn't mean they are led by evil forces or anything.

It says on the website itself, the dude lived in a house where things fell down every few months, so he decided to make a movie out of it. It's all staged and scripted it's not actual footage of ghosts messing with a couple lol

That's how hollywood gets you, they exaggerate things to draw people in and then use the excuse 'based on real footage' or 'based on a true story'.

Take for example the Amityville Horror. It was just a weird pissed off loser kid that killed his family, he wrote about how much he hated them. Then people blamed it on evil spirits and bam a hot new scary movie. Everything is exaggerated to draw in an audience.

Another example would be the Blair Witch project, idiots get lost in a forest, so blame it on ghosts and make a movie, but make it real looking and say it's actual footage!

That’s how people make money off you, scary things sell ! Kind of like by my school in Hamilton Heights (Columbia students should know about this) where they have those store front churches every 5 feet, with pieces of construction paper taped to the window saying HEY COME ON IN IM A PREACHER, and theres like 18 thousand different ‘churches’ on a span of like 8 blocks. So then you go in searching for hope and happiness, and the fake minister who bought his certificate off ebay scares the shit out of you and says HEY you do bhangra that’s what the devil does ! and then people go ooh ooh tell me moree and they reply waittt ill have to charge you though, and then you spend money and go back to hear about how the devil is bad and you should spend more money to be reborn under this new church. Scary things are interesting as hell and get people's attention. How do you think the puritans justified burning Amerindian villages … ooh ooh they live in the woods with the ghosts, they’re satanists OOH MINISTER TELL ME MORE okay ill tell you more but first we must kill them cuz they’ll haunt you forever
Even the Texas chainsaw massacre bs, it was based on a dude named Edward Gien who killed like 2 people and robbed graves, he never even used a chainsaw, and I don't think he even lived in Texas. So they made a completely new murder story and used that as it's 'based on real events' with that phony staged scene in the beginning which they talked about as being 'real footage'. It was debunked completely, and was filmed for the movie to make it seem real.

I watched The Fourth Kind trailer ... if those clips are real then why is this the first time they are being spoken about? I just don't find them true. I do definitely believe in aliens and historical markings of them though, just not the scary abduction stories. History channel documentaries on the likelihood of aliens being on Earth using paintings as evidence don't sell, but scary movies like these do !

But anyway about the whole ghosts thing, I think it's just weird circumstances that lack meaning which are then perceived by your mind as paranormal or ghostly, and the more you think about scary things the more scary your circumstances seem.

This movie looks fn amazing though !!!
Just out of curiosity, anyone here have weird stories to share? Like scary ghostly stories ? I always find them interesting.

My cousin from India was just telling me a story about this train that used to pass by the woods, and how a woman would just jump out. Most of the local trains (not like the shitabdi express) don’t have doors, so this one late night train would go through miles and miles of these scary looking woods (like the trans siberian railroad), and every night at midnight this woman with white hair in a white sari and red eyes would walk up to you and sit down, ask you questions, make conversation, and then randomly just say K GOTTA GO get up and walk off the moving train into the woods, like just step off the train, and it was the same time every night. Cool story, don’t believe it but it’s just creepy thinking about it.

Share your scary stories please !

Not to argue...but how do you go about explaining movies like the excorcism of emily rose or the excorcist? I haven't done research but clearly you have with the other scary movies...I heard they were based on true stories and things like that couldn't be like she didn't put on her make up and then that's why she looked possessed...

just saw Paranormal Activity last weekend....this is a crazy ass movie.....the first half an hour of the movie was pretty boring...but after that its probably the scariest movie i have ever seen
